1) PASOK-Oil:

August 9th 1996 : The MOTOR-OIL company created (for the 8th time in its
history) a huge oil leak that covered the shores of Salamina, Egina and
Lagouses isles. After many months of delays the Greek goverment "forgot" to
mention the company's president Mr. Vardinogiannis. They also forgot to
tell us how many tons of oil was poured in the sea or how many tons of
chemicals were used to cover up the damage. Nevertheless, Greenpeace
activists are taken to court for the action at the oil refinery and the
undersecretary for the environment declares that there's nothing wrong with
the water at MOTOR-OIL. The Greek goverment tried to hide the actual size
of the polution from the beginning and they won't commit upon inflicting on
MOTOR-OIL the adequate measures so that accidents like this will be avoided
in the future (no shipping of oil during the night and with sea storms). Of
course, as soon as Greenpeace tried to dispute Mr. Vardinogiannis' right to
dirty our sea, the public attorney ordered the navy commandos to arrest all
Greenpeace activists!

The disgusting protagonists : the company Vardinogianni-Aramco and their
puppets : public attorney G. Koulis (it took several months to pay any
attention to the oil-leak but only a few minutes to go from Korinthos to
MOTOR-OIL and punish Greenpeace!!) , the undersecretary Th. Koliopanos (I
say let HIS children swim in front of MOTOR-OIL!) and the ministers K.
Laliotis and S. Soumakis (who didn't think that our children's health is of
any importance to their plans)

2) Go SHELL - Go to hell !

Nigeria is the 4th biggest oil productive country with 1,9 million barrels
per day while the vast majority of its people live in poverty with no water
and electricity under a poluted environment. The English-Dutch SHELL
company controls aproximately the 50% of the country's oil production. On
November the 10th of 1995 the military coup executed by hanging nine of the
leaders of the Ogoni tribe. Their crime was that they protested against the
oil companies that poisoned their land and their children at the delta of
the Nigerian river. Before these executions, the SHELL regime had murdered
more than 2,500 people during several peaceful demonstrations.

* 80 people dead and 495 houses destroyed after a peaceful demonstration
of the Etse tribe at Oumouetsem.

* One dead, 30 wounded by shots and 150 beaten up from the Ouzouri
tribe.

* After a 5,000 people demonstration against ELF houndreads of houses
were burned. Hundreads of people left homeless or killed.

* After a 3,000 people demonstration against AGIP that was stopped with
force, all the roads that led to the village were blocked for nine
months as a punishment!

* Finally came the turn of the Ogoni tribe to protest. 27 villages were
completely destroyed, 80,000 people were driven away from their
homelands and 2,000 people killed.

All these must not be forgoten by any of us "western, civilized ,
oil-consumers". We must remember them one by one, each and every one of
these 2,500 people that were murdered in Nigeria so that we can bye our
gazoline at a lower price. Every time we go to the petrol-station and fill
it up. Every time. Every day. Each and everyone of them.

3) No way Norway

Either faking "scientific" reasons (Japan) or with no excuses at all
(Norway) the last living whales still have to face the whalers' harpoons.
For a number of years and despite the international treaties Soviet whalers
kept on murdering great numbers of whales and selling them to Japan. The
Japanese goverment still offers help to small developing countries in
exchange to their votes at the International Whaling Comitty. And above
all, Norway started the bloody whaling once more despising and violating
every international treaty.

While the present state of whale population is disappointing and the rythm
of recovery remains unknown, there still might be a chance for them inside
the safe zone created at Antarctica... provided that Norway stops the
bloodbath.
