Waterloo/Guelph - May 31 to June 2
A good weekend, played some golf at the free 9 hole course just north of Waterloo Campus. (If you are as horrificly bad as Matt and I expect to spend a lot of time looking for lost balls! The rough is VERY rough.) Some mini-golf and Mel's for dinner. Off to Guelph for an evening at The Penny Whistle and The Palace. Met a mystery girl from Mississauga who promptly disappeared shortly there after.

Breweriana Convention - Golden Horseshoe Chapter - Steamwhistle Brewing Co. April 13, 2002
Headed down for my first breweriana gathering and was very pleased. Met some people I had traded with through the mail, and found a whole bunch of caps that i have been looking for. The brewery (the part I saw anyways) is pretty cool. I will have to head back another time for a tour.

Sterophonics - Kool Haus - January 31, 2002
Finally made it downtown after many GO Transit delays, then had the same problem coming home! Yay Canadian winters! :) Thanks to Mel Tait for the ticket!

Mississauga Icedogs - Hershey Centre, Mississauga, January 13, 2002
Was impressed. Game was very good, Dogs won 4-2. Definitely cheaper than a Leafs game! Check out a game if you haven't already.

Raptor's Game - Air Canada Centre - January 4, 2002
My first Raptor's game. We were up in the cheap seats but I was actually pretty impressed with our view. It reinforced my opinion that there aren't any really bad seats in the ACC. Was a pretty good game with more than a couple of nice plays. Final score ? - ?

2001

Toronto Zoo - December 28, 2001
Thanks to Katie, Lauren, Lindsay and Rob for joining me for a winter zoo visit. It was fun and not super cold. A very relaxing break from the usual. I have a bunch of pictures but probably won't get around to scanning them onto the website.

Jer's Birthday Waterloo and Pickering - November 2 2001
Started the day off with a tour of the Pickering Nuclear plant. (I am working at AECL and part of my job is arranging site visits for engineers so it was helpful to actually see the processes and locations involved.)Had a very enjoyable time there. Headed up to Waterloo for some birthday celebrations. Potluck at Katie's, and then Weavers for some drinks and wings.

236 Shakespeare Kegger & Guelph BeerFest - September 21-22
Geoff and I braved a torrential downpour driving up to Waterloo to hit a keg party. It's a little disconcerting driving your little Suzuki Swift through puddles and seeing nothing but water out every window! Crazy!. Click here for details.
After a hearty breakfast at Mel's we headed over to Guelph for the beer festival.

Toronto Festival of Beer August 10/12 2001
I went down Friday the 10th, and Sunday the 12th.

Ted's Cottage - July 27, 2001
Sweet sweet cottage action... oh the pain of the sunburn! Click for details and pics.

Niagara On The Lake - July 20-22 2001
Headed out for the weekend to Niagara. It was such an old people vacation (i.e. the most drinks at one sitting was three, and we were asleep by like midnight on the second night, purchases included candles, jam, and shoes.) but very relaxing and fun. Details and pictures.

St. Patrick's Day - Waterloo, 2001

2000

Buffalo NY - November 18, 2000
Beer Trip stopping at Premier Gourmet and Empire Brewing Co. Very cool!

Octoberfest - Waterloo, October 14th 2000
Octoberfest @ The Rec Centre. Mmmm Pita Pit for dinner baby! The festing was pretty cool. I had never been before and I had a good time. Drinks were pretty expensive.. I'm disappointed that Brick's beers were more than the Molson Canadian... Oh well. The band was decent, and I got one of the cool souvenir miniature mugs. Extremely late night run to McD's and watched some of American Pie. Thanks to M,L&C for letting us crash at their place!

Fun activities included Sarah D locking her keys in the car, boldly going were people have indeed gone before, Mmm chocolate chips... Oh yeah keep the pizza out here, we like Dan enough not to try and kill him.... Mmmm bagel bites... Mmmmm more chocolate chips.. Stephane the drunken chocolate imp... Lets shave some heads.

NaidooFest - June 23-25, 2000 Kingston
Everyone does their very best Ryan Naidoo impressions. (Well probably not.) Nobody does Naidoo like Nay-doo. Nooobody! Ryan invited a bunch of people up for the weekend. After some interesting driving skills by Amarelo and Craigs ( we later found out that its astrologically required), we met up with the rest of the Missi crew in Kingston. Hit The Brass and Stages Friday night. Saturday included many a trip to the convenience store next door, some Euro 2000 soccer. (Portugal dominating some silly country... DOMINATING...) some 24 hour breakfast served by quite the interesting waitress. Fried up some Bison meat for dinner and headed out once again. Mmm Pita Pit... Mmmm... Sunday Chris and I discovered Ryan's porn. Ryan denied having seen one particular picture. Cartoon animals... Nuff said...

Waterloo - Shawn Hodgson's B-Day June 3/4 2000
Geoff and I headed out the 401 for a wee celebration. Got mildly lost... Well, not lost per se, more like we took a less than efficient route. Cracked open the homebrew proving that the third one really tastes quite yummy. Domino! Groovin to DJ A-Bot's MP3s, Taxi to the Rev (There were people there this time!)and some dancing. Jer fully enjoyed his first club since New Years. Walking home was quick.. It always is. Breakfast at The Barn was interesting. Geoff should never get shotgun when the backseat has headroom issues... The inflatable couch just refuses to inflate...

Horseshoe Valley - May 2-4 at Bretty's Chalet, 2000
A very interesting weekend. The fun ranged from Killer Kings to sugar junkies and cleanliness wars. (I took 5 rolls of film, and have about 50 keepers, and some ok leavers too).

Hilton Falls - Last Summer?
I just got a bunch of black and white pictures developed the other day, and these were among them. It's from when the Italian exchange students were here... when the heck was that?

Kingston - Ottawa - February 16-20, 2000
Left my place around noon and headed for Kingston. After a quick gas stop in Napanee I made my way to Brett's. Much hilarity ensued, including a round of "I Never" with Veera and Brett, and Jer got to change his first flat tire. Other firsts included buying a tooth brush (I always got them from the Dentist or raided the medicine cabinet) and having a burger from Licks. Brett insured that I will never cook for her, by preparing some rather yummy pasta :) Gill revealed an odd obsession with hot hot robot sex.
I arrived in Ottawa mid-afternoon. After some McD's I located our bed & breakfast - it was right on the Rideau Canal - and headed out exploring. I gave up trying to find my way around Hull and hit the Clocktower Brewpub. My uncles wedding was a small affair, but very enjoyable. I had the HUGEST chicken breast I have ever seen at the reception, which was quite yummy. The reception was held at a restaurant where Clinton and Chretien ate. It was pretty cool. I'm too lazy to get any more detailed then this right now, I'll try and get some pics up soon.

Parry Sound {An Andrew McGillis Joint} - January 5, 2000
Gill graciously hosted a bunch of us at his cottage. It was my first time up and frankly I'm bitter that I missed the previous outings. It is a very nice cottage and a good time was had by all. Some card games and chit chat preceded something I like to call Suibogganing. One of the hills was pretty icy which is cool except for the sand at the bottom of the hill... Yeah...
Things I learned: Always watch the gas gauge so you can pick when to get gas. Where Coldwater Ontario is. How James Amarello writes his name, always dotting the I. No matter how reasonable he sounds at the time, never ever listen to Rob Ton. If it hurts the first time, it still hurts the second time.

Millenium Madness - Waterloo, December 31, 1999
Matt and Melanie joined me in trekking up to Waterloo for New Years Eve. We partied at Shawn Hodgson's house before heading to Loose Change Louies. I wasn't all that keen on the Louie's idea at first but it was a blast. Lots of dancing... Some confetti in my drink but hey! Cuz baby I got your money.

1999

Suzuki Dealership - October 1999
Jer finally got his license in September. I just bought a 1998 Suzuki Swift. A new chapter in the road trip journal begins!

LP Grad '99 - May 1999
Me and a bunch of us "old folks" helped keep an eye on the partiers at Kathryn's par-tay. A good time was had by all. Thanks for the tasty beverages Kathryn!

Sudbury - March 17-21, 1999
There was some very nice weather while I was there. It was relatively warm, which was great since I was outside a lot. I stayed with Allison, and walked puppies all over the place. Tip - Two at a time with no leash wears them out quick. One at a time on a leash just wears you out!
I saw the Big Nickel, "The Stack" and Science North, which are the big attractions I guess. I had visions of Sudbury being much smaller and more residential than it is.

Waterloo - February 25-28, 1999
Crashed at Shawn's place yet again, (Thanks Shawn!) Main reason for the trip was to check out the Ontario Lifeguard Championships. A friend of mine (Allison Hicks) was going there with the Laurentian team(s) - they placed 4th and 5th respectively. I also saw Lisa Hutchinson who used to go to Erindale which was cool. Aside from hanging out at the pool all day Saturday, I played pool at Dooly's on Thursday night. (Cutty is the King - he won every single game no matter who his partner was, although some games were closer than others.), hit The Turret and Fed Hall at times. Mongolian Grill was very tasty if just a little expensive. Caught my bus home on Sunday at the last possible second. I'm going to go make up for four days of very little sleep now... ZZzzzz

The Tragically Hip @ The Air Canada Centre - February 23, 1999
Absolutely awesome! The seats were pretty far back but we still had a nice view. I look forward to going to a game there sometime.

Guelph / Waterloo - January 2?, 1999
Had a great time, got to see a lot of people. Went to a club in Guelph (The Palace) on Friday night, and stopped for a post drinking pita! Mmm mmm good! (Thanks Em!). Went out for dinner; One of the more interesting meals I have had in a long time. (The service was laughable but the food was excellent.) Hopped over to Waterloo after dinner and went to Laurier's pub (The Turret.) It was ok but a little dirty on the dance floor - sticking to the floor was an interesting experience!
Mostly played pool... Lost AGAIN! Geez.. Its really amazing how much I manage to suck! :)

1998

Toronto Festival Of Beer - August 7 1998
Took the train downtown to Fort York to taste the wares of some fine brew.
