Ahh, Star Wars. It seems it just can't go wrong. So, I decided to give one of the many SW games a try. Rogue Squadron is a really fun game! It takes Shadows of the Empire's strong points (the first and last levels) and makes it an entire game! Brilliant! And this game doesn't disapoint! I played the PC version, but I've heard and read that the N64 version is very good as well. Especially with the 4 MB expansion pak to give it PC-looking graphics on the N64!
Anyway, RS really draws you into the many worlds of the Star Wars universe. From Tatooine to Kessel to Hoth, it's all there! Mission objectives also add to the challenge! Missions range from destroying shield generators to taking out AT-AT construction factories to destroying the Empire's tobanna gas production facilities to more! Once each mission is completed, a medal can be awarded to you. Determined by enemies defeated, friendlies saved, time, and accuracy, medals go from bronze to silver to gold. As you gain more and more higher medals, secrets are opened up. (I'll go ahead and tell you, in order to use any vehicle on any stage, get all 19 gold medals!) Also, there are three secret levels. A T-16 race through Begger's Canyon, the Death Star Trench Run, and The Battle of Hoth. That brings the total number of levels to 19! It's a great, long game! Check it out!
