September 5, 2005: Fourteen new sites this update:
As always, check the master list for details. With any luck, the next update will be in two weeks.
July 18, 2005: Sorry for the delay. Blame Harry Potter.
Sixteen new sites this time around:
As usual, consult the master list for details.
No new recommendation this time around, either. Sorry, it's just been a very strange couple of weeks.
All Stargate fanfiction has been moved to the Movies section. They should have been there from the start, since the TV series are spinoffs of the film; blame my unfamiliarity for the mixup. My apologies for any confusion.
Heh. Lots of apologies this update. We'll see if I can't manage to have a little less to apologize about in two weeks...
July 3, 2005: Well, it's still July 3 somewhere in the world...I think. The next time I get the brilliant idea of devoting an update exclusively to new sections, could someone please whack me upside the head?
Anyway, no new sites, but eight new sections for your browsing...um, pleasure:
No new recommendation this update, I'm afraid. Hey, it's Independence Day--exercise some of that hard-won independence, and find some good stories yourself! :) Seriously, I'm about to crash here, so I'll bid you all a fair adieu. New sites in two weeks.
June 12, 2005: I hope my managing to turn in an update on time didn't give anyone a heart attack. :) Anyway, down to business. One new recommendation, and forty-two new sites:
I've also made a small addition to the FAQ page, and a slight modification to the site entry format to fix a disparity that had been bugging me for awhile.
It's getting to be about that time again, so next update will probably see some new sections broken off from the TV, Video Games, RPGs and Anime sections. Taking into account that these always take me longer than I think they will, the next update has been pushed back a week, to July 3.
Keep the site submissions coming, and I'll see you in three weeks!
May 30, 2005: Two new recommendations today, and thirty-nine new sites:
As always, check the master list for details. I also cleaned up the resources list.
For some reason, I've been very introspective of late when I'm maintaining the Clearinghouse. They say you're as old as you feel, and I certainly feel old when I see sites that opened well after the Clearinghouse already closing their doors or dropping off the face of the earth. Two sites in particular--FanfiX.com and OH NO! NOT ANOTHER FINAL FANTASY VII PAGE--were practically homes away from home on the 'Net when I first started out; now, both have long since disappeared without a trace.
I know there's practically no chance of them coming back, but if anyone reading this knows what happened to either of these two sites, could you please e-mail me? It's incredibly frustrating to me that they're gone, but I think I'd feel better if I at least knew why.
Well, anyway. Enough rambling from this senile old man. Next update is in two weeks--watch for it!
March 28, 2005: Hello again, and thank you for your patience during my most recent drop off the face of the earth. :P No excuses, I'm afraid; to paraphrase a certain rather notorious public figure, I need to learn to go with the update I have, not the update I'd like.
Anyway. Three new sections--Harry Potter, Card Captor Sakura, and Xenosaga--four new recommendations, and fifty new sites:
As always, check the master list for details.
Next update is in two weeks--see you then!
