1. Patrick Clancy was born in Ireland. He died 1 about 1855 in Caplin Bay, NF.
It is likely that Patrick Clancy was born in Ireland. Although there were Clancys at Fermeuse in 1800, the name Patrick did not appear as part of that family. Patrick seems to have been well established at Caplin Bay by the second decade of the nineteenth century. In 1817, he sold his plantation, boats, and other property there to Benjamin and William Sweetland & Co. In 1830, he is noted as renting part of this same property, which he still occupied, from Benjamin Sweetland.
According to the early voters lists, Patrick lived on the South Side of Caplin Bay in the area known as Road Side. His approximate date of death is based on the fact that he is listed in the voters list from 1840 until 1855 (inclusive), however, he is not listed as a voter in 1859.
He had the following children:
+ 2 M i Michael Clancy + 3 M ii Walter Clancy + 4 M iii John Clancy + 5 M iv "Stray" Clancy
