If you've never seen or heard of the television show Strangers With Candy, you can't imagine what you're missing. And if the folks at Comedy Central—the network that airs the show—have their way, you'll never know. The network suits recently announced they are cancelling the show, despite the blossoming legions of dedicated fans who tune in every week—and despite the fact that Strangers With Candy is one of the most consistently clever, best written, best performed and most utterly funny shows on any network today. Find out more about the show here.

People literally go out of their way to not miss an episode detailing the latest hijinks of Jerri Blank, a 46-year-old high school dropout who returns to Flatpoint High after years of education on "the street." Prostitution, drugs, gambling, alcohol—you name it, Jerri has done it. She has done things she wouldn't force on a mule—and, she reports, that includes things she has forced on a mule. (For other hiLARious things Jerri says, check out Tony's "Strangers With Candy" Quotes page.) A hilarious ensemble cast (headlined by Amy Sedaris' side-splitting portrayal of Jerri) and kick-ass, witty writing makes Strangers With Candy a show not to miss—and not to lose.

People who don't have cable television have sold their bodies for recorded tapes, just to keep up with the show. Others have bought cable service or a satellite dish specifically just for Strangers With Candy. On egroups.com there is a club devoted to the show that is 238 members strong and boasts a whopping 5,088 posts, as of October 1. When the club members heard that Comedy Central had decided to drop the show, they were shocked—especially since Win Ben Stein's Money survived the ax.

A few of the other list members had their own theories about the situation, but I personally believe that it's possible Comedy Central doesn't realize what a hit show they have on their hands. It's up to us to let them know.

I aim for this site to be a clearinghouse of clever and strategic ideas to save Strangers With Candy. Join me in not letting this one-in-a-million show go without a fight.

Stay tuned!
