Jacqueline’s Background
Jacqueline,
born in São Paulo, accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior with friends at the
age of 13. Her parents are Christians.
Her parents, João e Anna Bogoil Grecco with a heritage of Bulgarian, also
children of Christians parents were members of Boas Novas church and now
are members of Vila Prudente Presbyterian church.
When
she was still very young, she started to work with children in her local
church and at the age of 16 she decided to take the Child Evangelism
Fellowship one year course.
At
the age of 21, went to the
United States interested in studying the Bible and spent a short period of
time with American missionaries where she had the opportunity to learn
more about missionary work with children as well as adolescents.
When
she returned she continued to work with children having in mind to
continue with this work in other countries as well.
While
working for God by teaching children, Jacqueline also worked as an English
Teacher for about 10 years.
At
the age of 23, in 1989, she went to work to take a course to improve her
English in England and continued to have contacts with missionaries in
order to improve her knowledge and get acquainted with their life style.
She took many courses of specializations and took part of many conferences in order to improve her English here as well as in USA.
At the moment, Jacqueline has a child’s ministry among the street and slums children at Emanuel Baptist Church. It is not only a calling but also a missionary work that she intends to continue in other places where God leads her.
Daniel’s Background
Daniel
was born in Nigeria and raised with a heritage of missions minded parents
and grandparents.
His grandparents served in northern Nigeria under Sudan Interior Mission and were married there and his parents served in French speaking West Africa under Sudan Interior Mission and were married in Benin.
At present his brother Timothy and families are missionaries with Mission Aviation Fellowship (Treasurer at Headquarters). His brother, Philip and family are missionaries with SIM International (Projects Coordinator for Niger).
Daniel was led to the Lord in Salvation at the age of 5 with the help of his parents at Christmas time.
He was raised primarily in missionary kid boarding schools and attended LeTourneau University for electronics engineering and the Wheaton Graduate School for missions.
He has worked in a Christian radio network in Dallas and then in broadcast engineering and support services around the world for Harris Corp.
Meeting in the past.
Daniel
and Jackie met at Calvary International Church the 27th of
February,
Daniel
had chosen specifically to attend the morning worship service at Calvary
rather than go with work colleagues to tour Sao Paulo. It was supposed to be his last day in São Paulo after some
time of working for the Harris Corporation..
Not
only was that Church decision made in good timing for meeting Jackie, but
also for what happened next. Jackie offered him a ride to the airport
since her home was in that same general direction.
Much to their surprise, the tickets remaining on the BRAZIL PASS were expired! Daniel had misunderstood the expiration date. Daniel’s plans quickly changed in a way that both Daniel and Jackie viewed as near miraculous.
So,
considering this a “gift from heaven”, they left the airport and returned
to the city with smiles so big the sky couldn’t contain them.
That evening they went again to Church and a wonderful romance was
sparked! Jacqueline and Daniel believe that with God’s permission and
blessing, the relationship developed.
Daniel
was able to stay with the Fry’s from Church for the week and his boss
allowed him vacation time on the spot. The incredible set of circumstances
were exciting to experience!
On
the 7th of March on his departure, Daniel told Jacqueline “I
will not give up easily and distance will not keep us apart”.
The
relationship continued with a thousand letters, Faxes, phone calls and
gifts and visits.
They
were able to see each other since 1994 seven times in Brazil and seven
times in the USA.
It was difficult to maintain the relationship over the distance, time, cultural differences, language barriers, and backgrounds. However, it has not seemed all that impossible either.
They
simply believed that there was something present from the beginning that
gave hope to continue. With God’s help, correction, commandments and
their prayers and friends and families prayers, the relationship withstood
these tests and has enjoyed rewards too.
Looking forward to the future.
An
international relationship such as theirs has many exciting times of
discovery and awe also! They continue to acknowledge that God must be the
center of the relationship and submission to His commands must continue.
The love mentioned in Songs of Solomon 8:7 serves as a special motivator, “Many waters cannot quench love, Rivers cannot wash it away”.
It was not a coincidence that Daniel’s Brazil Air pass had expired.
So together, they pray that the future plans God has in for them will be those that allow the two of them to be used for His service.
They
are thankful for His mercies and desire to show those mercies to others
also through ministries such as radio outreach and teaching needy children
and adults.
Jackie's Background
Jacqueline,
nasceu em São Paulo, aceitou Jesus como Senhor e Salvador com amigos aos
13 anos. Seus pais, João Grecco e Anna Bogoil Grecco, sao evangélicos de
origem búlgara e também com pais evangélicos. Foram membros da Igreja
Batista Boas Novas e no momento são membros da Igreja Presbiteriana de
Vila Prudente.
Ainda
muito jovem, começou a trabalhar com crianças na sua Igreja local e aos
dezesseis anos resolveu fazer o curso da Aliança Pró Evangelização de
Crianas (APEC).
Aos
21 anos, foi aos Estados Unidos com o interesse de estudar a Bíblia e
passou um período curto com missionarios americanos onde teve a
oportunidade de aprender mais sobre trabalhos missionários com crianças
e jovens adolescentes.
Retornando,
continuou seu ministério com crianças, tendo em vista continuar com este
trabalho em outros países também.
Enquanto
trabalhava para Deus, ensinando crianças, Jacqueline começou seu
trabalho como professora de Inglês, carreira que durou 10 anos .
Aos
23 anos, em 1989, foi à Inglaterra fazer um curso de aperfeiçoamento da
língua inglesa e trabalhar. Continuou a ter contatos com missinários
para melhorar seus conhecimentos e se familiarizar com a vide de missionários.
Fez
vários cursos de especialização em Inglês e participou de inúmeros
congressos e seminários para a especialização do idioma, tanto no
Brazil como nos EUA.
Atualmente,
tem um ministério com crianças de rua e de favela junto à Igreja
Batista Emanuel. Não só é um ministério e chamado de Deus, mas também
um trabalho missinário que ela pretende continuar em outros lugares, onde
Deus a levar.
Daniel's Background
Daniel,
nasceu na Nigeria, foi criado
com uma herança missionaria por parte de avós e pais.
Seus
avós serviram no Norte da Nigéria, no interior da Missão Sudan e se
casaram no local. Seus pais serviram em países de idioma francês como no
Oeste da África pela Missão Sudan e
casaram-se em Benin.
No
momento, seu irmão, Timothy, e familia são missionários
da MAF (uma missão que visa suprir equipamentos, aviões e
medicamentos para missionários). Ele é tesoureiro da sede.
Daniel
foi levado à Cristo aos 5 anos de idade por intermédio de seus pais na
época do Natal.
Ele
cresceu, primeiramente, em Colégios Internos para fillhos de missionários.
Estudou também Engenharia Eletrônica na Universidade Le Tourneau e missões
na Escola de Graduação em
Wheaton.
Seu
trabalho está relacionado com uma rede de radio cristã em Dallas e
desenvolve serviços de suporte a Rádios em vários países
para a Corporação da Harris.
Meeting in the past.
Daniel
e Jacqueline conheceram-se na
Igreja Internacional do Calvário em Fevereiro de 1994. No final do culto,
Daniel e Jacqueline saíram da Igreja juntos e começaram uma conversa que
mudaria suas vidas para sempre.
Daniel
preferiu ir culto da Calvary
naquela manhã a passear com seus colegas por São Paulo. Era o seu último
dia em São Paulo depois de algum tempo de trabalho pela Companhia Harris.
Esta
decisão não foi boa só pelo culto, mas pelo o que iria acontecer logo
em seguida. Jacqueline ofereceu a Daniel uma carona ao aereoporto, porque
sua casa localizava-se
naquela região.
Para
a surpresa deles, a única passagem que ele possuía para dentro do Brazil
havia expirado! Daniel tinha entendido mal a data da expiração do
embarque. Os seus planos então mudaram rapidamente, fazendo com que
percebessem aquilo como um milagre.
Então,
assim como um presente do céu, eles deixaram o aereoporto e retornaram
para a cidade com sorrisos tão grandes que nada
poderia impedí-los. Naquela noite,
eles foram para uma outra Igreja e um romance maravilhoso estava para começar!
Jacqueline e Daniel acreditam que, com a permissão e benção de Deus, o
relacionamente tomou forma.
Daniel
pôde ficar com uma família inglesa da Igreja naquela semana, assim que
seu chefe autorizou-o a ficar mais alguns dias de férias. Este conjunto
de incríveis situações foi uma experiência magnífica.
No
dia 7 de março, em sua despedida, Daniel disse à Jacqueline “Ëu não
vou desistir tão fácil e a distância não nos separará.”
O
relacionamente continuou com muitas cartas, faxes, telefonemas, presentes
e visitas.
Eles
conseguiram se ver, desde 1994, sete vezes no Brazil e sete vezes nos EUA.
Foi
difícil manter o relacionamento à distância por causa de fatores como
tempo, diferenças culturais, barreiras do idioma e educação. No entanto,
mesmo com estas dificuldades, não pareceu totalmente impossível.
Eles
simplesmente acreditaram que havia alguma coisa presente desde começo que
deu a eles esperança em continuar. Com a ajuda de Deus, correção, obediência
aos Seus mandamentos e orações deles, de amigos e de familiares, o
relacionamento aguentou algumas provações e tem, agora
aproveitado a recompensa.
Looking forward to the future.
Um
relacionamento internacional como o deles tem muitos momentos excitantes e
maravilhosos de descobrimento também! Eles continuam crendo que Deus deve
estar no centro do relacionamento e a
submissão aos Seus mandamentos deve ser contínua.
O
amor mencionado em Cantares de Salomão 8:7 encaixa como um motivador
especial. “Muitas águas não podem apagar este amor, nem os rios afogá-lo…"
Não
foi coincidência que o cartão brasileiro de embarque tinha expirado
naquele dia.
Juntos,
oram para que os planos futuros que Deus tem reservado para eles
sirvam para que os usem para
o serviço do Senhor.
Eles
estão agradecidos pelas misericórdias do Senhor e desejam mostrar essas
misericórdias para outros através de um ministério, como o de alcançar
e ensinar crianças e adultos necessitados pelo rádio.
