Prayers and support are needed!

Update as of time page modified:

Without your prayers we would not be strong enough to handle the challenges we face, nor would our ministry be as effective as it could be. Without your support, we would not be able to go and be ministering through our technical support.

God is much rather pleased when a group of people support an evangelistic activity than if someone tries to do it on their own. It is true that in some cases, we are alone in our ministry, and we would best need prayer during those times.

Prayer is not hard to do, at all! It is what follows prayer that gives us muscles (and fruits of the spirit as well).

Prayer accomplishes much for the world because we become "one with God" in the process and in that way, God's plans and desires are worked out. He desires for His creation to be Holy.

SIM International has a motto called "BY PRAYER" and for thousands and thousands of occasions, 1800 of their missionaries have themselves knelt on their knees to praise God for His mighty grace, sufficient to lead His servants along in the Kingdom of God. It is not easy, but our strength comes from above. We do not carry on in our own strength and we admit this. We should admit this, and we must not not admit this! We in our selves are not the greatness of the ministry, it is the Holy Spirit working in us.

Jonathan Maxwell, who recently went to be with the Lord in heaven, gave a life time of ministry to God in missionary service. His parents were also missionaries. Rosalyn Maxwell, his wife, was also a single missionary before they met and then married in 1960.

Jonathan left behind a legacy of faithfulness even to the point of death. In his days with Leukemia, his outlook was to be a testimony regardless of the circumstances. He was a part time chaplain to those in the hospital right next to him and published a weekly letter called "Insights for Outpatients".

His desire would be for his children to remain faithful. Here is his picture of less than a year ago watering the garden in his back yard.

Without watering, without broadcasting the gospel whether through personal communications, church communications, or mass communications, the seeds will not grow.

Prayer is the source of the water, and the practical working out of that process is the labor of Daniel and Jackie as well as the financial backing for their ministry.

The result is healthy meat, potatoes, tomatoes, corn etc... The result is nourishment and salvation to those who have never heard the gospel and are needing salvation, and also to those who are Christians and need nourishment.

Please consider joining us in support with a donation for this short term missions trip.

The present level of support is now at:

The total received so far is:  $3,925

Our goal is to raise $3500 for a three month trip in June and July. This covers the cost of airfare as well as housing and food with insurance. Our bare needs will be met during this time and no more. There simply isn't time to raise much more.

If you would like to donate, please do one or more of the following steps:

  1. Write a check to SIM International written in the memo area as support for Daniel and Jackie Maxwell.
  2. Then mail it to SIM-USA, Atn. Receipting Department: P.O. Box 7900, Charlotte, NC 28241
  3. Please include the Short Term Associate (STA) # 63916
  4. Call SIM at (800) 521-6449, Short Term Associates Department, and let them know you have posted the support.
  5. Please also call or write to me or Jackie also to let us know you have given some support. The time frame is short and the mission needs to keep tabs on our progress because a decision has to be made soon if we should continue planning to go or if they will have to send someone else.

Please give what you are able to give, small or great, we will very much appreciate this. You will also receive a tax-deductible receipt from SIM.

Thank you for even considering us in your thoughts as well as prayers. It is our thorough joy to be at this stage and to see God's hand working and to feel strength that we didn't know could exist because of God's working and your support.
