Joshua was born in approximately 1690 in Welton, Northamptonshire. His parents were John and Damaris Wafforn (formerly Wills). He was the seventh of seven known children, his siblings being; John (b.1678), Joseph, Damaris (b.1680), Mary (b.1682), Frances (b.1684) and Margaret (b.1687). On 23 July 1727 Joshua married Elizabeth Hill and they go on to have at least seven children; Joseph (b.1727), John (b.1730), Elizabeth (b.1736), Joshua (b.1738), James (b.1741), Frances (b.1744) and Mary (b.1748). It is interesting to note that Joseph was christened on 18 December 1727, only five months after the couple wed. In 1748 "Joshua Wafforn of Welton voted for Valentine Knightley esq. (Tory)." I have no details of the death of either Joshua or his wife, Elizabeth. Similarly, I have no information on Joshua's occupation. |
