You might be wondering, "who the hell would want to ride in the rain?" Well, wake up, this is the Pacific Northwest, it rains a lot here. Now, you don't really want to ride in the rain persay, but sometimes when it's not acually raining, the road is still wet. And since summer has ended, and winter is coming (face it), I'm going to tell you what to expect when the road is wet. First off, pull out those expensive ABEC 7 bearings from your wheels, cause you won't wanna mess those purty little babies up with rust. Go out and buy a cheap set of ABEC 3's for like $15. Next, you might wanna put those Cherry Bombs away until next spring, and get a set of Xtreme Wheelz , The offroad wheels are the best for the wet (but, Cherry Bombs are fun on a thin layer of wet stuff if you know what to expect). If you ride wood, try to waterproof it. Then, wear some rain gear over your leathers (and if you don't wear leathers, you should). Now it's time for wet land fun. When you take your first few rides, remember that your brakes don't work very well, and when you used to be able to stop in ten feet, it'll now take you at least twenty. So, go slow and be careful. Ride a road you know by heart. You won't be able to turn as well, traction dies off quickly. But on the wet, going fast isn't nearly as fun as the turns. This is where Cherry Bombs can be good, cause you can slide in the turns... woo hoo.... You might do it purposely, or it might happen accidently, but when it happens, it creates a surge of adrenaline like no other. It's fun as hell, but be very careful, cause it can bite you in the ass, hard. When your done, be sure to dry off all your gear, and clean your bearings. Have fun, and ride year round.
