|Kaoru Kamiya|

Age: 17
AKA: Jo-chan, Racoon girl
Fighting Technique: Kamiya Kashin Ryu Kendo

About Kaoru:
Kaoru is the mistress of the Kamiya Dojo. She's been running the Dojo ever since her father died in the war. She is the master of Kamiya Kashin Ryu (a technique that makes a sword use as a non-killing weapon for protection) in her dojo but now it seems that Yahiko and Yutaro are the only students that she has. She can be very agressive and hits Kenshin a lot but deep inside her is a great care for her love, Kenshin. She is kind but gets jealous when Megumi is talking to Kenshin or when Sano and Yahiko are talking about beautiful women. She loves to cook but unfortunately, she's not good at it (it seems that almost all main female anime characters are poor cooks =p).

Kamiya Kashin Ryu Kendo:
"The Kamiya Kasshin School was brought into the Meiji era by my father, who survived the violence of the Bakumatsu. My father wasn’t a killer. He fought single-mindedly for his motto, 'the sword that protects life.' "
-Kamiya Kaoru
Name Description
Hiza Hijiki A skill which Karou forces the hilt of her broken bokken against her opponant's kneecap, shattering it.
Hadome (Blade Block) The first part of the Kamiya Kasshin Ryuu ougi, it is a sword block technique, which it utilized by crossing your wrists, and grabbing the blade of your opponent's sword with the back of your hands.
Hawatari (Blade Clash) The second part of the ougi, where the user takes control of the opponents blade by slipping their backhands along it, then thrusting forward with the handle of the shinai.
Ryu-shou-sen Modoki This technique is an altered version of Kenshin's Ryu shou sen. Instead of targetting the throat or chin like the Ryu shou sen normally would, the Ryu-shou-sen Modoki targets the the area close to the elbow.
