Welcome to the one and only Joe's Creek web site. Feel free to browse our pages and find out what golf is really about. But be warned! This league is not about serious golf. We do focus on stuff like etiquette, rules, and equipment, but not in any positive way if we can help it. What really gets our interest is crappy golf. Stuff like someone attempting a delicate wedge shot and laying a monster clump of sod over the ball instead, or dumping 3 shots in a row into the drink before finally throwing the ball over and wishing they had just done that in the first place. And we like it even more when it's done with a large audience, like our closing hole greenside gallery where "ettiquette" is considered a four letter word! But our primary focus when we show up every Wednesday night at Deerfly C.C. is control. Not swing control, but beer temperature control. How to minimize bag weight from too much ice, combined with melt ratio's to achieve cold beer throughout all nine holes. (Joe is still extensively testing out a user friendly formula...stay tuned!) Our league is named after mighty Joe Young. Not the guerrilla of movie fame, but the member of our league that on one fateful evening erringly placed five balls in the little creek that defends the Emerald course's 4th green and 5th tee.
