A BoS can contain many things, and the contents will vary from book to book. They can contain anything, including spells, rituals, correspondence information, meditation journals, etc.

Often times, individuals belonging to a group (circle, grove, coven, etc) will have their own private BoS, along with there being one that is a compilation done by the group.
