Book of Shadows Herbs have many uses in the life of a pagan, both mundane and magickal.

Mundane uses of herbs include use for medicinal purposes, cooking, potpourris, and even decoration. Many people, with tolerances and immunities being built up to many modern medicines, are going back to the old ways of treating illnesses. Did you know that feverfew was the original aspirin? Or that the juice from the itchweed plant (stinging nettles) neutralizes it's own rash? Mullein crushed and rubbed on the rash serves the same purpose. Herbs can be used medicinally in various forms, including teas, tinctures, tonics, syrups, capsules, etc.

** Important note: Some herbs, in too large of quantities, wrong forms, or in combination with other certain herbs or medications can be dangerous, and sometimes deadly. Please consult a physician, pharmacist or herbal specialist before attempting to self-treat, even with Mother's own best remedies.

There are also many magickal uses for herbs. They can be used to make potpourris for specific purposes, teas, in candle rituals, dream pillows, talisman and mojo bags, and more things than I can name. Each herb has it's own specific magickal purpose, often times corresponding to the mundane use it also has.

That being said, below you will find a list of just *some* of the many many herbs used, and what they are often times used for.
