Tournament in Philadelphia is over by now - Dominique lost against Testud in two close sets 4-6 4-6... Season is coming to it's end soon and as a 'prize' for good performance throughout whole season, Dominique will be one of 16 best players of the season who have right to participate in WTA World Championships - Chase Championships held in New York. Now it's time to make the final preparations for Chase... and no matter how it goes there - we can all admit that despite some injuries and unplanned early upsets on couple of tournaments, despite all those unlucky days... Dominique has had a good season once again - third good season in a row, qualifying for the Chase second time in a row - and as you remember, a Chase in 1997 was just two spots away... Well done Dominique! J
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS! Dominique played a great match to begin her first ever tournament in Philadelphia - she defeated her main competitor for final Chase qualifying places, Russian Elena Likhovtseva in very impressive style 6-1 6-2! Now it should really be 100% sure that Dominique will take part in WTA season ending Chace Championships second year in a row! And she becomes a first ever Belgian to achieve this kind result in one year, a result, good enough to participate the season ending tournament for the best ones, so called World Championships more than once!! Well done, Dominique! All your fans are very proud of you! But first - the best of luck in your second round match in Philadelphia - against Sandrine Testud, another 'special' opponent from Fed Cup days!
There has been a change of plans in Dominique's schedule - she's still playing in Philadelphia! She's 7th seed and will play against Elena Likhovtseva in 1st round later today. After Anke Huber lost her first round match yesterday, it should be 99% sure that Dominique has already secured a place in Chase Championships next week no matter how the match ends today, but still, to be sure it would be nice to secure everything by oneself instead of waiting results of the others - so, all the best, Dominique! You can do it! You deserve to be part of the Chase this year as well and why not go there having some nice matches behind you! Good luck!
Tournament in Leipzig got kind of shocking end this week - after beating the first round opponents Dokic/Kandarr in first round of doubles, Dominique was playing the second round of singles against her doubles partner Anne-Gaelle Sidot - and she got defeated in 3 sets 6-3 2-6 3-6... Even bigger shock than this result was the fact that it made the Race to Chase open to all those who still needed to qualify - and to all Dominique fans biggest disappointment, almost all her opponents took this chance... Right now 'we' are 15th in Race, but there still are three very dangerous challengers - Huber, Likhovtseva and possibly Frazier. Likhovtseva has about 90 points to go, but she is one of the girls who are still playing next week... Frazier is playing too, but the gap to make up is hopefully too big for her. And today, Huber is playing in QF in Leipzig - we would be saved in case she won't reach the final as she isn't scheduled to play next week ... as it is with Dominique - in case she won't go to Philadelphia as a 'wild-card'. So, all the fans, now it's our turn to keep our fingers crossed, as there's nothing else Dominique or we could do about that.. and definitely, she deserves to get to Chase! Let's hope!
So, Dominique is playing in Leipzig this week - she is 4th seed and got a first round bye. In second round Dominique's opponent is Anne-Gaelle Sidot who beat Magdalena Maleeva in three sets. She playes also doubles - what a coincidence?! - her partner in this tournament is her second round opponent Anne-Gaelle Sidot and their first round opponents will be Jelena Dokic and Jana Kandarr. This tournament is very important to Dominique and all her fans as it's scheduled to be her last one before Chase Championships - right now all the signs show that there are great chances that she will make it to the Chase, but for being absolutely sure, at least some more points are needed... So we all wish you all the best for Leipzig, Dominique! Good luck and lots of nice wins!
While you are waiting for tournament in Leipzig to start - here are two great match reports from recent tournaments in Filderstadt and Zürich - written by Sandra! Thanks a lot, Sandra, for sharing your experiences with all other Dominique fans! Great tennis and great reports!
Ladies Kremlin Cup ended in semifinal for Dominique - she lost a very tight and nervous match against 2nd seed Barbara Schett 5-7 6-7 (6-8). Both girls had their opportunities, but Barbara had a bit more luck during the most important points - for example, at 5-5 in first set, Barbara saved the breakpoint against her with help of the netcord... it might have been the turning point of the whole match, although Dominique never gave up and fighted until the very last point of the match. Anyway, reaching semifinal of the Tier I tournament (and second time in a row in Moscow - 97 and 99 as she had to withdraw last year due to injury) and gaining the biggest amount of points - 185 - in 1999, which made Moscow the most successful tournament this year and climbing   from 16th to 12th place in Race to Chase - it all made last week a great one for Dominique and all her fans! Well done, Dominique! See you again in Leipzig!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! DOMINIQUE'S GREAT RUN AT LADIES KREMLIN CUP CONTINUES!!! In quarterfinal she defeated 3rd seed Julie Halard-Decugis in three sets 6-1 4-6 6-1! First and third set were just fantastic and even in second great battle was going on - Julie managed to break Dominique's serve just once in the match, at 4-4 in second set... And that was it -  Dominique reached the semifinal of Tier I tournament and will play 2nd seed Barbara Schett tomorrow! GOOD LUCK, DOMINIQUE! IT MIGHT BE YOUR TOURNAMENT TO TAKE! YOU CAN DO IT!!! YESSSSSSSSSSS!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! DOMINIQUE DID IT AGAIN!!! She defeated Lina Krasnoroutskaya in great three set 2nd round battle and gave young Russian second defeat in her career (remember, the first loss game from Dominique as well!). After winning the first set quite easily 6-2, Dominique lost the second one with the same score and it seemed that Krasnoroutskaya had found some kind of secret weapon to upset Dominique - she was leading 5-1 in third set and was three times "almost there" - she needed just two more points to win the match... But then! But then - the audience and the opponent witnessed the pure brilliance of Dominique's ground strokes and her committment to the match - Dominique came back in great style and won 7-5!! Well done!! Congratulations, Dominique, it was a great match and great win! Your fans are very proud of you! Continue like that - Julie Halard is waiting in QF - and we really believe that you can do that - win again! The best of luck for that! Yesssssssssssssss, once again! :-)
YESSSSS! Dominique has won the tough first round match against Patty Schnyder 7-5 6-2! It was Dominique's first even win over Patty (their head-to-head record is 1-4 now) - adding the fact, that this win was very important in terms of still having chances to qualify for Chace Championships, it has been a great day for Dominique and her fans! Well done, Dominique!! In next round the opponent will be 15 year old 'wild card' Lina Krasnoroutskaya - they met only some weeks ago in SF of Seat Open at Luxemburg and Dominique won the match in three tough sets... Hopefully the final outcome of this match will be the same once again... All the best for the next matches! You can do it!!!
So, Dominique is 5th seed in Moscow this week and she got a very tough opener there - first round match against Patty Schnyder... It can be seen as bad luck in draw, but on the other hand - if Dominique manages to win the match, it will give her lots of valuable quality points... But the best news about this match is that Dominique will be a star of Eurosport in second match in a row - today, at 13:00 C.E.T. Eurosport is showing 'LIVE' broadcast of this match from Moscow! So, all the fans, here is our chance again! J Let's hope for the best from this match! So, Dominique - the best of luck in today's match! Your fans believe in you - we believe that you can do it! Fingers crossed, everyone!
Dominique played great and very competitive match against Mary Pierce in Zürich QF, but it wasn't enough on that day - she lost 2-6 4-6, although it has to be said that the scoreline doesn't actually describe the match at all - it was a close one and Mary got the advantage by winning the most important points... Anyway, Dominique played a good match and it was really great to see her fantastic 'killer' groundstroke-winners again! Thanks Dominique, for letting your fans enjoy your great tennis again! Of course, a won match gives even more positive emotions, but in some cases the final result is not as important as the way of achieving it - specially playing against higher ranked players... Best luck in Moscow!
So, today, after having a two days rest, Dominique will play her quarterfinal match against 3rd seed Mary Pierce. Btw, all signs show that this match will be showed on Eurosport, so be there on time! :-) Match starts not before 6:30 C.E.T., so be ready to keep your fingers crossed then! According to commentators', Mary played almost the match of her life yesterday against Chanda Rubin, but today Dominique might have the same kind of day, so who knows... Those two girls play the same kind of tennis - powerfull and very flat - 'deadly' tennis on the day their shots are working... So, let's hope for the best! Sandra will be there to lead the fans on the way - fans from all over the world, sitting in front of the TV or Internet Scoreboard... Good luck, Dominique!
YESSSSS! Dominique is in quarter final of Tier I tournament! She defeated Italian Silvia Farina in very impressive way 6-2 6-2! According to what I could see via Scoreboard, her serve was never really under attack - there were no breakpoints against her... Very well done! We are proud of you, Dominique! In QF Dominique's opponent will be either Mary Pierce or the winner of Nathalie Dechy vs Chanda Rubin match. Come on, Dominique, this is your chance again! The best of luck to you for this match!
Yessssss, Dominique started her campaign in Zürich very successfully - she defeated Ai Sugiyama in very tough three-set match 3-6 6-4 6-2! Suprisingly this match was played already on Sunday, so I guess most of the tennisfans didn't even know that it was taking place then... Anyway, later today Dominique will already play her second round match against Italian Silvia Farina on Centre Court... All the best, Dominique! We all are keeping fingers crossed for you! You can do it!
So, Dominique got surprised by Nathalie Dechy in 2nd round of Porsche Grand Prix at Filderstadt. Young French girl was stronger on that day and won in two sets 6-3 6-2. Of course, it's sad that Dominique couldn't repeat the results of last year's great tournament, but don't worry - let's hope that next week in Zürich it will be much better... New week, new chances and new wins! We don't give up so easily, right?!? :-)
Yessss! Dominique defeated Spains Magui Serna in first round at Filderstadt 6-4 7-6 (7-4)! As a matter of fact, it was the re-match of the last year's Filderstadt - Dominique started her fantastic tournament by getting a first round victory by beating Magui then as well... Hopefully this is a good sign or something... :-) Well done, Dominique! Go on like that! In next round tomorrow it will be a match against either Nathalie Dechy or Mary Joe Fernandez... The best of luck for your next match, Dominique!
Dominique is the 8th seed in Porsche Grand Prix, tournament which is played in Filderstadt this week. In first round she will meet a qualifier (yet unknown) and in case this match will be successful the next opponent will be either Nathalie Dechy or Mary Joe Fernandes. But let's take it round-by-round, as in Tier I tournament all the matches are very tough ones... Anyway, all the best for Dominique! Let's keep our fingers crossed for her - she has always been good indoors and hopefully it continues like that!
Congratulations to Dominique and all her fans - Dominique is ranked No 10 in WTA rankings once again!

It put a great point to the tournament in Luxembourg - unfortunately, it wasn't supposed to be a totally perfect week as after beating another 'young gun' Lina Krasnoroutskaya (girls' US Open champion this year) in semi-final 5-7 6-3 6-1, her fellow Belgian, 16 year old Kim Clijsters appeared to be too powerful and too strong for her in final... the score was 2-6 2-6... Anyway, it was the second final of the 1999 and Dominique did her best to get back to Top 10 - and she did it! Her comments after the final were following: "I think I could have played better today, but Kim was playing unbelievable," Van Roost said. "She was hitting her serves so consistently and getting back my shots with no difficulty. I think she has a very bright future ahead of her, and that's very exciting for tennis in Belgium."

Yesssssssssssss! Dominique is in semis of Seat Open! She defeated young Slovenian girl Tina Pisnik in straight sets 7-5 6-3! Now she will meet either Silvia Farina or another 'young gun' Lina Krasnoroutskaya in semifinal tomorrow...The head-to-head against Silvia Farina is 2-1 and Dominique lost their last meeting in Hamburg this year, but this match was played on clay, so now it should be different... Krasnoroutskaya is a new face for almost every player on tour, so it's difficult to estimate what she is capable of... But let's hope for the best - Dominique has a great chance to have one of her best tournaments this year and hopefully she has enough strength and luck to do so! All the best for that - all you fans believe in you, Dominique!!!

But the greatest news today is that according to the unofficial ratings Dominique will be ranked as Top 10 player next Monday with this win over Pisnik! Congratulations, Dominique! Great achievement! Well done!!!

Yessss! Dominique had a tough and highly dramatic match against Sidot and won in three close sets 4-6 6-4 6-4. Both players showed great and fast tennis and - because their style of the play - quite some errors as well... Dominique seemed to have some problems with the serve at first, but as match went on, she became better and better and won two last sets. She commented the match as following: "I know that it will be difficult as Sidot plays just as risky tennis as I do. My problems with serve were purely mental as I was a bit afraid of the returns." In quarterfinal later today, Dominique will meet young Slovenian Tina Pisnik (ranked 96) who came through qualification and beat Alexia Dechaume-Balleret and Rita Grande in previous rounds. Each of this tournament's QFs has one up-and-coming player in it and as there is such a tough competition on tour now, no one match is easy for any player, even if the ranking difference is almost 100 places... But Dominique has always played very well indoors and hopefully she continues like that - she definitely has everything it takes to do well in Luxembourg... including supporting fans everywhere! :-) All the best, Dominique!
Dominque is the 2nd seed at Seat Open in Luxembourg this week and she's playing against French girl Sidot in second round after getting bye in first round... The match is going on right now... All the best for the match! You can do it , you know! And we know it as well..... :-)
YESSSS! Dominique started U.S. Open in very impressive way - she defeated Maureen Drake of Canada in straight sets, just giving away one game - the final score was 6-1 6-0!!! Very convincing victory indeed - well done, Dominique! So it seems that in Grand Slams the real value of players will come out in it's brightest (of course, in case they won't be too unlucky to meet one of those up-and-coming "one Slam wonders" in first round...) - if in other tournaments the opponent might even have a slight chance against them, then where it matters - at Grand Slams - the difference is huge... Once again, well done, Dominique! Congratulations! And good luck in next round - against Italian Rita Grande! All your fans are very proud of you! Go on like that!
This week is the Fed Cup week, but after that busy times for Dominique will start... She has entered the tournament in Luxemburg next week (ranked 3rd there). Next it will be Filderstadt (12th), Zurich (11th), Moscow (8th) and Leipzig... Two of them are Tier I and other tow Tier II tournaments, so it will be tough to get through, but busy schedule and indoor matches mixed together have given great results for Dominique ... hopefully it will go like that this autumn as well! All the best, Dominique!
Well, well - matches against Mary Joe have always been special - and this time it appeared to be the same. In first set, from second to fourth game all the games were very even - both girls had their oppurtunities, but the one who served used her best weapons to avoid it - Mary Joe had a bit more luck during decisive points and took 3-1 lead, which became 5-2 after three more sets. Then Dominique broke her twice and held her own serve, so the score was even on 5-5 again. And to prove that the match was very close, there are stats that show that on 5-4 to Mary Joe, both girls had won equal number of points 32-32!?! But apparently all the catching and coming back required too much strengt and too much effort - after breaking Mary Joe to reach 5-5... Dominique got broken again and couldn't save the set anymore. Second set was a sad example of being really exhausted of trying to get back on terms... and probably being a bit upset about not having any luck at all... Mary Joe broke right in first game and after that Dominique just kept trying, but luck wasn't on her side and apparently not so many things she tried were actually successful... We hoped that once the luck will turn to her side and it will be her turn to win decisive points, but... it wasn't supposed to be so... Anyway, Dominique reached as far as she did last year and defended almost all points she had to - so well, nothing to be too ashamed of... Let's hope for the best in coming tournaments! We all know that she is a great player and can do fantastic things on court, but sometimes it's just not her day... Well, tomorrow the doubles will be played as well - the best of luck for that, Dominique and Flo!
Today it's doubles-day for Dominique. In second match on Court 15 Dominique and Flo will meet Annabel Ellwood of Austraila and Rika Hiraki of Japan. The best of luck for that! Meanwhile - check the famous match reports by Chris Gerby - yes, he's there again! Also some new photos from U.S. Open are there to be seen as well! Enjoy! And be ready for next round of supporting Dominique again!
YESSSSSSSSSSSS! Dominique is in 3rd round of U.S. Open! She beat Rita Grande in two tough sets 6-3 6-3!!! It was much more close than in first round, but Dominique took the chances she was given by Grande (or just created those chances by herself, of course), her serve was working quite well (as the broken servicegames were long and tough ones), so... There is every reason to believe in more succes in next round - against Mary Joe Fernandez, probably on Friday... Well done, Dominique - and good luck for next matches! We believe in you!
U.S. Open draw has been announced by now. Dominique's first round opponent will be Maureen Drake of Canada. Possible next round opponents might be - Rita Grande or Barbara Schwartz in 2nd; MJ Fernandez or Miriam Oremans or qualifier in 3rd and possibly Venus Williams herself in 4th round. Pretty impressive list, but let's take it round by round and hope that everything will go like Dominique, Bart and all her fans are planning, wishing and hoping for! Cross your fingers for Dominique - last Grand Slam of the year is about to start! Good luck for Dominique... and for us! :-)
After having missed Toronto last week, Dominique entered the tournament in New Haven before the U.S. Open which starts next week - to have some more match practice and to get used to those "special" U.S. hardcourts. In first round Dominique's opponent was Maria Antonia Sanchez Lorenzo - the girl whom she beat earlier this year, at Australian Open. This time it was much tougher and unfortunately the final score was not so good for Dominique and her fans - she lost 2-6 7-5 2-6... Now she will have a week off for final preparations before U.S. Open. The best of luck, Dominique! You know that you can do that - have some great results and play fantastic matches when it matters the most - at Grand Slams!
Dominique has secured herself a seeding for U.S. Open - for 8th straight Grand Slam tournament in a row! Great! The draw will be announced on Wednesday, 25th of August. As soon as results will be know, you'll find them here, of course! Let's hope for the best of luck for Dominique with the draw!
Dominique had a good run in San Diego two weeks ago - she reached quarterfinal by beating Maureen Drake 6-3 7-5 and Ai Sugiyama 6-2 6-4 and lost there against a new (old?) number one in the world Martina Hingis, but she didn't give up so easily - the score was 2-6 4-6 and hopefully this tournament gave Dominique confidence she needs for U.S. Open and all the other tournaments coming up right before and after that. It's great to see you back, Dominique! Continue like that!
Hardcourt season in U.S. didn't start very well for Dominique. She had to retire against Anne Kremer in first round match after losing the first set 0-6 and trailing in second 0-1... It's still not known if there were some injuries or was this retirement caused by this illness Dominique was suffering couple of weeks ago. News agencies reported that she was "suffering a strain in the neck during the match" but hopefully it wasn't anything too serious and Dominique will be able to play next week in San Diego again. Get well soon, Dominique! And good luck in San Diego!
So. Dominique is having a short break now and will be back for tournament in Stanford (week of 26 July), listed as 6th. Next tournament will be San Diego (week of 2 August, 13th). After another short break Dominique will play in Toronto (week of 16 August, 12th) and New Haven (week of 23 August, 7th). Let's hope for the great results! You can do it, Dominique - you know that! (Get well soon!) All the best!
It was a very tough day for Dominique today as she had to play both in singles and doubles, and although it wasn't supposed to be her day today, she gave a tough battle to both Tauziat in singles and together with Flo in doubles. Singles match started very well as suddenly Dominique was leading 3-0! She won the set 6-3 and was leading 2-1 and 3-2 with the break in third set, but then Tauziat "woke up" and showed her best tennis on grass... 3-6 6-3 3-6 was the final score. Anyway, Dominique had already achieved her career best 4th round again - and there's nothing to be ashamed of if you lose to one of the greatest grass-court players...  In doubles the story was almost the same - Dominique and Flo lost the first set, won the second and then... I guess Dominique was probably a bit tired from the first match of the day and well, Arendt and Bollegraf are more doubles than singles players, so they were very tough opponents... The final score was 1-6 6-3 1-6. Anyway, we can be proud of what Dominique managed to do in Wimbledon this year - reaching the 4th round in singles and third in doubles (and upsetting the seeds on the way)! Good work! And the best of luck in next tournaments!
Well-well... Now we know that it's old good England again... Rain delay, of course! Well, the match against Tauziat didn't start so good for Dominique as she lost her serve in 4th game and had three break-points in 7th, but Tauziat didn't give her any chance to break... Then it was 5-3 and 30-30 on Tauziat serve, but finally she won the first set... Second set started much better for Dominique - she hold her serve although she had a break-point against her and in second game she had break-point herself... but then the rain started... and so it's 3-6 1-0 and break-point to Dominique... Hopefully this break (nobody knows how long it might be) gives Dominique a chance to re-focus and take her chances when the match continues! Come on, Dominique, you can do it! You already came back from one set down in first round, so why not to try to do it again!?! You have beaten Tauziat before and this time it's not so impossible task either - just a bit more luck... So we wish you all the luck you need outthere! We are keeping our fingers crossed for you!!! All the best! And well, no matter what happens next, Dominique has repeated her career best Wimbledon by reaching the 4th round anyway!!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Dominique is in 4th round of Wimbledon again! She defeated Dutch girl Kristie Boogert in second round 6-3 6-3 and very tough opponent for her, Russian Elena Likhovtseva in 3rd round 6-4 7-6 (7-4)!!! Well done, Dominique! Despite of all those tough times before Wimbledon you've managed to show to all "doubters" that you are still there, playing the kind of tennis what is so impressive and effective on "your day" - may you have lots of those days ahead! Tomorrow the next opponent will be 8th seed Nathalie Tauziat, whom Dominique beat in Rome earlier this year - it was on clay, but still... Hopefully it will be great match! Best of luck!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Dominique and Flo are in third round of doubles tournament! They defeated Erika De Lone (USA) and Nicole Pratt (AUS) in first round 6-1 6-2 - the score seems to be quite convincing, but actually it was very tight match. Good for Dominique and Flo that they managed to win the most important point and make the score look so impressive! In second round their opponents were 16th seeds Cara Black (ZiM) and Irina Selyutina (KAZ) - Dominique and Flo came through in three sets 6-4 2-6 6-4 and will meet Nicole Arendt and Manon Bollegraf who upset 3rd seeds Tauziat & Fusai. Good luck to team Dominique & Flo!!! Dominique played also in mixed doubles together with Tom Van Houdt, but they lost in first round to Mark Merklein and Erika De Lone from USA.... Anyway, it was more for fun and match practice, so no worries about that....
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Dominique won a tough opening round match against Elena Dementieva, after losing the first set 3-6 she took next two 6-4 6-4! This was a match that should give her some confidence for the next round as she came back and made a nice present for herself, her family, friends, fans and her country! Well done, Dominique! We are very proud of you! Good luck in next rounds!
Well-well... You never know what can happen before it has actually happen... J As Serena had to pull out, Kournikova got her place in the draw and that's why Dominique got "another chance" - now she will meet another Russian girl, "lucky loser" Elena Dementieva in first round. It will be tough match as well, but not as tough as the supposed one against Kournikova...Let's hope for the best! Yesssssssss, hopefully it gives Dominique extra confidence and desire to do very well at Wimbledon once again! See you on Monday!
Dominique got surprised again on grass - she got defeated by Kristina Brandi in straight sets 3-6 3-6... Now she can have some more "practices" of playing on grass during the doubles tournament in 's-Hertogenbosch and get ready to Wimbledon - after all, the has probably the toughest draw at all... It doesn't probably look so good right now - but still, all the fans are still there to support you, Dominique! The best of luck to you for Wimbledon! You CAN do it!
YESSSSSSSS! Dominique won "The Battle of Belgians" once again! Now the head-to-head is already 7-0 to her! The victory came in straight, but quite tough sets 6-4 6-4! There were quite some misunderstandings in different sources, but finally the right score was confirmed! Well done, Dominique, merci! As a matter of fact, Dominique attended the official chat after the match as well (yes, I just happened to be there!), but unfortunately the system did not work in some reason, so she couldn't see any of our questions... Maybe better luck next time... Anyway, good work, Dominique! Continue like that - show the fantastic tennis as only you are capable to play! Next round - Kristina Brandi... All the best!
It will be "The Battle of Belgians" again in 's-Hertogenbosch this afternoon - Dominique meets Sabine in second round match of the Heineken Trophy (second match on Court 2). The head-to-head record is very impressively 6-0 to Dominique and let's hope that she manages to improve it even more! Good luck, Dominique! You can do it! (And thanks a lot for greetings!J)
Well, well... it seems that there are some problems with getting a good draw in Wimbledon time to time - Mary Pierce in first round in 1997 and now, Anna Kournikova in first round again! Definitely a bad luck - and very tough first round match, of course ... Head-to-head record between Dominique and Kournikova is 2-0 to Dominique and it's quite encouraging, but anyway, it's definitely one of the toughest matches in first round... Anyway, we wish the best of luck to you, Dominique, in Wimbledon! Your fans always believe in you, no matter whom you gonna meet on tennis court! Show them what you can do! Show them your magical tennis! All the best!
According to commitment lists, Dominique was supposed to play in Eastbourne, but she is the 2nd seed in Heineken Trophy at 's-Hertogenbosch instead. Last year it didn't go so well for her there, hopefully it will be much better this time! Dominique got first round bye and in second round she will meet either Karina Habsudova (because of changed draw) or "old-good-opponent" Sabine Appelmans.  It will certainly be tough match, but let's hope fo the best! Dominique is also playing doubles - together with Alexia Dechaume-Balleret - they got first round bye and will meet the winners of the match between DeVilliers & Hiraki or Kruger & Fang Li (changed). The best of luck, Dominique! You can do it!
Happy Birthday, Dominique! The best of luck for you in everything you do!
Your fans all over the world are there to give you their support whenever you need it!
Well, sad news continue... Dominique lost unexpectedly in second round of Birmingham, tournament which was full of upsets this day. The score against Alexandra Stevenson in straight sets 4-6 3-6. Fortunately the situation in terms of Wimbledon seeding is secure enough - Dominique should be seeded at least 16 if nothing extraordinary happens. Next week she will be playing the final warm-up for Wimbledon in Eastbourne. Hopefully she manages to break this "dead lock" there... All the best for that!
Dominique is 3rd seed in Birmingham this week - we can call it another surprise entering as she wasn't mentioned in any commitments list available... but anyway, recently those surprises have ended up to be quite successful, so hopefully it continues to be like that! Dominique got first found bye, in second round she will meet either qualifier Stevenson or "wildcard" Latimer. Possible third round opponent is either Sidot or the winner of the match between Barabanschikova or another qualifier Guse. In case Dominique manages to defend the quarterfinal spot she reached last year, she might meet 10th seed Raymond or 6th seed Serna or someone who upsets them on their way up... Good luck, Dominique, we know that you are as good as you've always been on tenniscourts!
