 | 28 May - YESSSSSSS!!!
Dominique is in third round of French Open!!! She needed less than a hour to defeat her
countrywoman and Fed Cup team-mate Els Callens in straight sets 6-3 6-0! Start wasn't the
best one, because Dominique lost her opening servicegame, but she game back to break next
two Els' servicegames and the last one as well. Second set was already much easier -
Dominique didn't face any breakpoints and her serve was very good - she got 81% of first
serves in and won 92% of them and her winning % on 1st serve in whole match was as high as
80%!!!! It was really very impressive win! Hopefully it gave her a lot of confidence
before third round match against Serena Williams. Dominique has defeated Serena once, but
it was some time ago - so it will definitely be a tough match! Good luck for that,
Dominique!!! |
 | 28 May - One
great news for all women's tennis fans - Eurosport has made a contract with WTA Tour about
broadcasting WTA Tour matches during next 3 years!!! YESSSSSSSS!!!! |
 | 28 May - Dominique
and Florencia won their first round match in three sets 3-6 6-3 6-2! And as I got to
know from "a specialist of this doubles-team" (Thanks, Christopher!), they
probably won last weeks doubles title in Madrid (as they got more points than other
finalists)!!! No exact results can be found...yet... But it's really great to hear that
Dominique has won another doubles title - now she has three of them!!! Well done,
Dominique! And same words to Flo! |
 | 27 May - Today
Dominique will play doubles - so tomorrow it will be Dominique vs Els..... BWT, after
inserting yesterday's match to my "smart" results-program, it "said"
again - "You (i.e. Dominique) have now played 40 matches against all of them; You are
doing very well; How about finding some tougher competition?.... Sounds familiar?!? The
same thing was said after 20 matches - so it seems that Dominique has continued on the
same level... |
 | 26 May - Dominique
will meet Els Callens in second round - Els defeated Lea Ghirardi-Rubbi in three set 6-2
7-6 6-3. So it will be all-Belgian match... Bwt, look at some pics from Sabine-Mary match
from NetCam... |
 | 26 May - YESSSSSSSSS!
Dominique had successive start in this years French Open - she defeated Magdalena
Grzybowska in very tight three set match 7-5 3-6 6-4 and it lasted 2 hours and 23
minutes!!! I followed this match via Internet - and it's impressive how exciting it
actually can be!!! As I looked at match statistics, it seems that Dominique made 9 (!)
double fouls, hitted 45 winners and made 62 unforced errors, but it don't matter anymore,
cause she won it! And tomorrow is already a new day! Congratulations, Dominique!
You were good!!! Continue this winning track!! |
 | 26 May - Another
sad day for Sabine - she lost to Mary Pierce 2-6 3-6... But let's hope that she won't give
up after all! Fans a still believing in her!!! |
 | 26 May - Some
more older news - about Open Paginas Amarillas de Madrid or Yellow Pages Open in Madrid -
doubles results. Dominique has had a great doubles run as well, although there seem to be
no news about final result... In first round (together with Florencia Labat, of course) -
they defeated Paz/Serna 6-4 6-4, in quarters Csurgo/Yoshida 6-3 6-4 and in semis
Escobar/Ramon 6-3 6-2. In final they met McQuillan/Pratt - but as I mentioned before - no
result available....... |
 | 26 May - Some
statistics about Dominique's past performances in French Open (from 1991) - she achieved
her best last year, when she had "black day" on her birthday losing to
Aranxta... Her win-lose record in French Open is 3-6 now, but let's hope that it goes
better this year... |
