Megumi Family the "Takani" are famous as being very good doctor and taking care of patients regardless of their social levels. We meet Megumi when she with the Kanryu-arc and being force to make opium for the corrupted merchant Takenda Kanryu when she got away Kaoru offer to let her stay at her place where she meet the whole Kenshin gumi. Then she is blackmailed and then Kidnapped. When Kenshin find out what is going on he Help save her from the Takani and has to defeat the Oniwabanshu gumi to succeed in saving her life. For atonement of what she has done by making Opium she now work to heal people as a good honest Doctor.
