John Allen Love
Mr. Love, of Monroe Precinct, is Democrat canidate in September primary election for the office of County Commissioner. He is a sucessful farmer and livestock raiser of economical habits, mature judgement, and is about 40 years of age. He first secured a good education with the view of teaching, or of following some other professional work, but decided later to farm. He purchased a farm near his father's homestead, married the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Asa Reynolds, and has added substantial buildings and other improvements to his original tract, until he has won a standing among the best and neatest farmers of our county. His father, being a merchant, J.A. Love, has taken occasion to acquant himself with the mercantile and commercial buisiness also; in fact, few men in our country are better prepared to judge impartially the sources from which our public revenue cpmes and there are very few who will do more to relieve the indebted condition of our county.

MILES anna was born 3 Jul 1909. She died 12 Mar 1965. She was buried in mcpherson - love, hardin co., IL. She married LOVE john allen.

Obituary for Nancy Jane Angleton, Hardin County, Illinois OBITUARY Nancy Jane Angleton, widow of Thomas A. Angleton, was born 5 Sep. 1849 and died at her home on Harris Creek Mar. 23, 1910 of a brief illness of lagrippe. She was the first daughter and fifth child of Nancy Jane (Patton) and Elias Oxford and was born and reared a quarter of a mile of where she died. She was first married to James Oxford in the spring of 1866 by whom she had five (5) children, only two (2) of whom, Wilmer Oxford and Mrs Peter Hambrink survive her. Her first husband died in Oct. 1883 and in Sep. 1885 she married Thomas Angleton by whom she had Millard, who survives her. It can be truthfully said of her last husband that he was exceptionally good and kind to his step-children which kindness they recipocated, thereby promoting peace and happiness in the family. She grew to woman-hood at the time when the educational facilities in this county were so very bad, only those who had a burning hope for an education and pressed against geat odds ever got beyond the three R's and hence her education was very limited in the ability merely to read a little. She had been a member of the General Baptist Church for many years, and of her purity of heart, honesty of purpose and upright Christian life, no one who knew her ever had the slightest doubt. As a wife and mother she had few equals, was devoted and loving, giving the best service of her life to her family. Socially she had few charms, of those who knew her will admire her because of her innate kindness of heart. She is survived by brothers, John A. Oxford and George W. Oxford; sister Hannah E. Brownfield, besides a host of other relatives and friends who mourn her death. After a funeral discourse by Rev. E.N. Hall, in where he gave a beautiful and loving tribute to the deceased- --dwelling especially of purity, industry and quality of life. Taken from the Hardin County Independent, Hardin County, Illinois
