Welcome to the beach side town of San Angelo. It's your average city, it has a downtown filled with businesses and a healthy night life. It has a lovely City Park with lake and woods. It has a gorgeous public beach. It's also home to too many supernatural events to count.
Dozens, perhaps hundreds, of unexplained events litter this town's history, and the citizens barely blink an eye. Unless you just moved in, shadows passing overhead, howls in the night, and disappearances don't even get a second glance.
Enter Kali: a half-demon in search of her human mother. San Angelo is her only clue. She answers an ad for a roommate and ends up partnered with human, Justin. He's not perfect, but he has a good heart, something Kali didn't know existed, having grown up seeing only the worst humanity had to offer. Together, they go on the quest to find Kali's mother, and discover whether the demoness is more demon or human.
But there're many obstacles in their way, including Kali's ex-friend who is being manipulated by an evil cult master. This cult master needs a demon in order to make himself all-powerful. Also after Kali is undead ninja, Sakki, who was sent by Kali's father to bring her back to Hell. Minor characters litter the story, all with some connection to the other characters and all attributing to the story.
