Soulless FYI

Here's the character profiles and other Information about my Soulless coimc.

Characters:
- Kali: Kali is a half-demon who has come to Earth in search of her human mother. She's spoiled and prone to apathy, but she's slowly learning what it means to be human, thanks to her human friend Justin. Very powerful, but she's hesitant to use her powers due to a past incident. Although not consciously, she's also trying to find out if she has a soul (like humans) or not (like demons.)
- Justin: Kali's best friend and roommate. At first he doesn't believe she's a demon, but after she proves it, he treats it as if it were a personality quirk like only wearing yellow. He's laid back, confident, cheerful, and a pretty boy. He's always up for an adventure, so he happily offers to help Kali in her quest, despite the great danger that comes along with it. Justin's one of the few characters to be pure of heart and soul, never turning his back on his morals and what he thinks is right.
- Angelique: Kali's ex, although their relationship was never well defined, even between the two of them. She used to be quiet, sweet, and compassionate, but after a traumatic event involving Kali and a mugger, and several months in an asylum, she became withdrawn, suicidal, and unbalanced. Now, she's been taken in by a demonic cult, and has become nearly pure evil. Targeted towards Kali, as her cult master has programmed her for that specific mission.
- Sakki: Sakki was a young, promising ninjutsu student, but due to circumstances beyond his control, he was drawn into a cycle of revenge, which ended in his death. However, he was revived by the demon Darce, and was given great power. In return, Sakki must track down Darce's daughter Kali and bring her back to her father. After that, Sakki is free to seek revenge on his murderer.
- Kaine: Kaine is Sakki's niece, but has no wish to continue the cycle of revenge that started long before her birth. She is also trained in ninjutsu by her grandfather (Sakki's father) but Grandfather has recently fallen ill. There simply are not enough funds to cover her grandfather's hospital care, so Kaine must reduce herself to selling her ninja skills to get the money. As she is proud and it goes against what she was taught, she'd rather not, but she loves her grandfather and does what she must.
- Blaine: Blaine was found as a baby by Kaine in a river by her home. At first she treated him like a pet, but soon it became a brother-sister relationship. Blaine is quiet, actually, he's mute, but seems to communicate well enough. He seems almost supernatural, with all his pale features and his powerful aura and compassion. Understandable, since he's distantly related to Kali. He acts like an empty shell at times, but other times it seems he's far beyond our understanding.
- Darce: Kali's father. Twenty years ago Darce was summoned by an amateur demonologist by the name of Austin Summer. They eventually had a child, Kali, who was taken away by Darce shortly after her birth. An oracle told him that Kali would become a powerful force one day, and he was worried that humanity would corrupt that destiny. He genuinely loves Kali, and wants to do what he thinks is best for Kali. But like most overprotective fathers, what he wants is not necessarily what Kali wants, and they don't always see eye to eye.
- Lianna: Kali's aunt. She's also aware of Kali's destiny, but believes that if it really is destiny, it'll come to pass no matter what. She's very concerned that Kali'll become "too human" on Earth, and pops in every now and again to try and convince her to embrace her demon side more. She's a flaky sexpot, but means well in her own way.
- Red: Kali's pet dragon. He's not, as name would suggest, red, but instead is colored in various shades of purple. Red was the color of the egg Lianna gave Kali on her first birthday. He's fiercely loyal to Kali and acts like a big puppy dog at times. He's still very young in dragon terms.
- Kendra: Angelique's current girlfriend and fellow, and willing, cult member. She seems supportive and caring towards Ang, but she's working under the orders of cult master Shumon. Whether these feelings are genuine or false has yet to be revealed.
- Master Shumon: The leader of Ang's cult. He's been trying to summon/capture a demon nearly all his life. He found a ritual that will transfer a demon's power into himself, but it didn't come with directions on how to get the demon. So when he heard about Ang's encounter, he set up for her to be released into his custody and he's using her to capture Kali.

Soulless FYI:
- San Angelo: The city/town where most of this story takes place. It's a beach side town with a nice nightlife, totally unaware of what is going on in the shadows. The kind of place a group of college students go to spend Spring Break, only to be horribly murdered and the public never finds out.
- Demons and Angels: Okay, I'm not trying to step on anybody's toes with my portrayal of Demons, Angels, and The Powers That Be. I'm not going to be researching too deeply into this, since most of it is attached to religions, and I want to avoid that subject. I'm trying to keep them non-denominational.
- The Demon's Ring: An artifact, and the central symbol in demon powers. A ring about six inches in diameter, it is a conduit that serves as a link between the semi-corporeal demons and the pure power that feeds them. It makes demons more demonic, brings out the worst in humans, and drains angelic beings of their power. For many reasons, it is kept safely locked away and guarded and very few can gain access.
- The Angel's Key: Very similar to The Demon's Ring, except for angelic powers. It's a rod about six inches long, and serves as a link between the angels and their power. Gives power to the angelic, drains the demonic, and is also guarded very closely.
