2004: The Year of the Traitors
First published January 11th 2005.

In his article ‘The Great Crime Spree of 2004’ http://www.antiwar.com/justin/?articleid=4242 raimondo characterized 2004 as being a "great crime spree". This is another brilliant, stingingly truthful article from a courageous man who, given the intransigent silence of most other commentators on neocon perfidy, continues to grow in political stature. My own take on 2004 comes from an end of the year discovery of a pervasive phenomenon.

After the pentagon and new york (p*ny) bombings, one of the most remarkable features of american politics ever witnessed, was the utterly obsequious way in which george bush allowed himself to be ignored, humiliated, and abused, by ariel sharon. Sharon called him "Neville Chamberlain" and bush said and did nothing. Bush has become sharon’s bitch to such an extent it is possible to describe him as a traitor to his own country.

It is now beyond doubt that israelis in the bush administration pushed america into the invasion of iraq for the sake of the zionist state in palestine rather than for the defence of america. Instead of protecting america they are making it more vulnerable to terrorist attack. The zionist proxy war against iraq is costing the lives of many american soldiers and civilians as well as preparing the way for the future crippling of the american economy. The israelis in the bush administration are traitors to the country they supposedly work for. Prior to the invasion of iraq there were massive anti-war protests around the world. Eighteen months later, millions of american anti-war protestors voted for the candidate who tried to present himself as being even more pro-war that george bush. The same traitorous switch of allegiance will occur in britain when most of the anti-war brigade votes for the quisling tony blair.

What was especially shocking about 2004 was that greens in america deserted ralph nader who had done so much for them over the previous eight years. "Actually, Nader's 1996 and 2000 presidential campaigns are, by most accounts, primarily responsible for quadrupling the number of organized state Green Parties and guaranteed ballot lines in the last eight years. Nader wasn't a Green Party member in either campaign, but he promoted the party at every appearance. And since the 2000 elections, Nader raised more money than any Green at the national, state and local levels, according to his campaign's estimates." (Alan Maass ‘A Report from Milwaukee: Green Party Shifts Into Reverse’ Counterpunch http://www.counterpunch.org/maass07012004.html July 1, 2004). Nader had given a huge boost to the credibility and popularity of the green party. Without him there might not have been a national green party. So greens’ decision to reject him seemed more than churlish. "One would think that the candidate who had over 2.7 million national votes cast for him as a Party's standard bearer in 2000 - the guy who did more to "build the Party" than anyone else - would be lionized by that Party - forever. No." (Michael Donnelly ‘How to Steal an Election The Green Version, 2004’ CounterPunch http://www.counterpunch.org/donnelly07102004.html July 10 / 12, 2004). He was not merely their former ally but the most outstanding anti-war candidate in the 2004 presidential election and yet greens deserted him for the sake of boosting the electoral chances of war monger kerry. The greens who did most to dump him were virtually all zionists who were mortified by nader’s accusation that the american congress and american president were zionist muppets.

It wasn’t just greens who deserted nader. He was also deserted by his former supporters from the 2000 presidential elections. "Nader has become a remarkably lonely man on the left. His old liberal friends, sprinkled throughout organizations like Public Citizen, have disassociated themselves from him. Pop radicals like Michael Moore, who championed Nader in 2000, have become sudden experts in electoral college math and now beg him to drop out of the race. Most surprising, and most infuriating to Nader, what might be called the radical left establishment has also abandoned him. More than 70 of his most influential supporters and advisers from 2000 - people like Noam Chomsky, Studs Terkel, Cornel West, and Howard Zinn--have signed a letter advising progressives to vote for Kerry in closely contested states." (Ryan Lizza ‘Sole Influence’ Campaign Journal San Francisco, California). These lefty/liberal/progressives even campaigned against nader for the sake of john kerry, "In two days this week, we've seen minor-office elected Greens go after Nader and the next day over 70 academics, actors, authors and nonprofit professionals from Nader's 2000 Citizens Committee sent out a statement "urg(ing) support for Kerry/Edwards in all "'swing states,' even while we strongly disagree with Kerry's policies on Iraq and other issues ... Progressive votes for John Kerry in swing states may prove decisive ..." This surrender doc was signed by Noam Chomsky, Ben Cohen, Phil Donahue, Barbara Ehrenrich, Jim Hightower, Bonnie Raitt, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, Cornel West and Howard Zinn among others." (Michael Donnelly ‘The Nuance Comes Off’ Counterpunch http://www.counterpunch.org/donnelly09142004.html September 14, 2004). Many of nader’s former supporters were zionists who were also probably mortified by nader’s accusation that the american congress and president were zionist muppets. For those of us who, for many years, have had to tolerate greens/lefties/liberals/progressives prevaricating, condoning, and equivocating, over the zionist state and pretending there is no such thing as zionist domination in the media/politics, their traitorous treatment of nader is the final straw. The awful truth is that it is not possible to replace the washington puppet show with the washington peace show because the peaceniks are predominantly zionist warmongers supporting the zionist state in palestine.

The christisons have highlighted the zionization of progressive journalists. "In the last year, there has been a rash of investigative films and in-depth studies and analyses put out by progressive journalists and media outlets that examine the U.S. drive for global hegemony and try to look at why terrorists are targeting the U.S. These journalists and media outlets, the very progressives who should best be able to "get it," have all totally or almost totally ignored the Israeli connection to the Iraq war and to the various other Bush administration plans for the Middle East: the much discussed possibility of an attack on Iran and its nuclear capability, the possible plans to attack Syria, the so-called "transformation" of the Middle East supposed to come about by foisting a false democracy on it upon the wings of cruise missiles and B-52s." (Kathleen and Bill Christison ‘The Elephant in the Room of Empire: Israel as Sideshow’ http://www.counterpunch.org/ October 12, 2004).

The christisons have also highlighted the zionization of the peace movement, "Certainly, there are multiple aspects of U.S. foreign and military policies that peace activists in this country should be working to change. But none of the elements of U.S. global policies in the list above is more important as a cause for hatred of U.S. policies around the world, and therefore as a potential cause of future terrorism against the U.S. and its allies, than the failure to impose meaningful restraints on Israel's occupation and its behavior toward Palestinians. By erasing U.S. policies toward Israel from the list of acceptable targets for criticism, too many peace movement spokesmen inevitably - and sometimes perhaps unconsciously - exaggerate the importance of other U.S. policies. What has been exaggerated the most, in part because it best suits the propaganda needs of Israel's Likud government, is the U.S. relationship to, and the role of, authoritarian Arab governments as a root cause of the September 11 terrorist acts." (Kathleen and Bill Christison ‘The Elephant in the Room of Empire: Israel as Sideshow’ http://www.counterpunch.org/christison10122004.html October 12, 2004).

Paul de rooij produced a devastating critique of the pro-semitic bias at the heart of amnesty international, one of the most respected non-governmental organizations in the western world, "Careful scrutiny of amnesty international's record reveals that, its typical response to the daily obscene deeds by either Israeli or US armies is a few barely audible ruminations with an occasional lame rebuke." He concluded, "Anyone concerned with justice for the Palestinian cause or seeking to end the obscene war in Iraq will be disappointed with Amnesty International's stance. It is no use appreciating the bits of its reports that are useful; the problem is that its overall position on key issues is at best contradictory. Many of the well-intentioned and idealistic volunteers working on AI's campaigns may be wasting their efforts given that the AI framework adopts a blinkered understanding of the problems. Donating to AI doesn't translate into effective action for these causes, and given AI's record, the Palestinians certainly cannot expect fair coverage or representation. Will AI ever clearly and categorically condemn Israel for the large number of killings and the havoc and destruction it has caused in Jabalya or Beit Hanoun? Don't count on it. Each Israeli assault on Palestinian refugee camps, each US bombing of cities in Iraq, and each assassination of yet more Palestinians or Iraqis reveals AI's dubious stance. Today, most AI pronouncements range between moral flatulence and moral fraudulence." (Paul de Rooij ‘Double Standards and Curious Silences’ http://www.counterpunch.org/rooij10132004.html October 13, 2004).

The word which best describes these various political phenomena is traitorous. Israelis in the bush administration are not merely passing on intelligence and military technologies to the zionist state, they are doing the bidding of ariel sharon rather than the american people. Israelis in the lefty/liberal/progressive/anarcho movements are steering the rest of their movements away from any criticism of the zionist state in palestine. The anti-war brigade has acted traitorously towards the millions of innocent victims of america’s invasion of iraq and america’s support for the zionist invasion of palestine. And the zionists in the green movement have acted traitorously not merely towards nader but to these same victims and to green issues as well.

The vietnam war was such an odious, vile, reprehensible, war it was difficult to imagine america would ever again allow itself to descend into such moral depravity. It seemed an aberration for a country where political, social and religious, freedoms were enshrined in a constitution - perhaps the finest political constitution ever written. Alright, america got involved in some nasty little wars but they were limited and over almost as soon as they’d started. And the fact that in 1990 america refused to invade iraq after the first gulf war seemed to indicate that it had learnt its lesson about repeating the vietnam debacle. It wasn’t too difficult to comprehend that nothing was going to stop america from invading afghanistan to take revenge against those thought to be directly responsible for the p*ny bombings. But the invasion of iraq has rapidly become a second vietnam. One vietnam war suggests that americans are vulnerable to an appalling moral and political relapse in the same way that the germans were vulnerable to their relapse into nazism. That america could pursue a second vietnam war is beginning to reveal there is something terribly sick about american society and the american political system.

This sickness is called zionization. The scale of zionist domination over the bush administration is so great that it has passed from being shocking into the realms of the ridiculous as zionists make their american hosts dance like muppets. And the more obvious it becomes that israeli traitors have taken over the american government, the less that political activists, political commentators, and even politicians, want to talk about it. This phenomena is even more remarkable since zionists power seems to be spreading to ever greater parts of american society not merely the presidency, congress, the two main political parties, and the green party, but mainstream christian churches who are now spewing out the most dreadful zionist bigotry, and american ngos such as amnesty international, protesting about every sort of illicit imprisonment and torture except that going on in the zionist state in palestine. If americans want to see their future all they have to do is look at the zionist state in palestine. The israelis in america who love the zionist state in palestine are importing the zionist state en masse into america. Rich zionists in america are treating america’s poor in the same way as the zionist state in palestine is treating palestinians. The rogue zionist state is not merely beginning to resemble the rogue zionist state in palestine, it is because of the rogue zionist state in palestine that america is becoming a super-power rogue.

The collapse of the anti-war movement is the most blatant manifestation of the political bankruptcy and moral depravity of the green/democratic/left/liberal/progressive movement. The movement’s failure to unequivocally condemn the appalling racism of the zionist state in palestine is yet another manifestation of its political bankruptcy and moral depravity. The movement’s traitorous treatment of nader, who did more than anyone else to boost the cause of the green/democratic/left/liberal/progressive movement, merely confirms the movement’s political bankruptcy and moral depravity. What has brought about this moral and political collapse is the dominant role of zionists in this movement. As a consequence of this dominance, some non-jews in the green/left/liberal/progressive movement display as much rampant pro-semitic bigotry as jewish zionists whilst others quietly condone what is happening in the zionist state and do nothing about it. The wide-scale political corruption brought about by zionists becomes clear simply from comparing the huge effort made by the green/left/liberal/progressive movement against apartheid in south africa with its remarkable lack of effort to oppose the far worse apartheid system in the zionist state. The apartheid regime of the zionist state is bringing unutterable shame on western values, western civilization, and western politics including not merely the political establishment but the green/left/liberal/progressive movement as well.

A piddling three thousand americans died in the p*ny bombings and there was instant national grief, total media preoccupation, and politicians constantly pontificating about this supposedly profound event. And yet when the indonesian tsunami struck and tens of thousands were killed and vast areas of land flattened, the american president, his zionist advisers, and the zionist dominated congress, didn’t take the slightest bit of notice of this disaster until they sensed the public was beginning to wonder how they could be so callous. "Note, for instance, the administration's response to the catastrophic Sumatran tsunami. Though from its early hours the event was visibly near apocalyptic and the body count bound to be astronomical, the President spent three days on vacation cutting brush at his ranch in Crawford in glorious silence (just as his junior partner Tony Blair would continue to vacation in sunny Egypt). After all, the losses weren't American; terrorism had played no role; and it hadn't happened in New York City, but largely in Muslim countries. And so miniscule amounts of aid were announced by a minor administration figure at a moment when, as Juan Cole pointed out at his Informed Comment website, we were unsuccessfully spending a blinding $1 billion a week to impose our will on a recalcitrant Iraq. When the criticism and embarrassment became too much - it turns out that even this President is subject to "global tests" - George emerged from hibernation to praise American generosity ("we're a very generous, kindhearted nation") and to announce that we would indeed mount a mighty relief effort to be led by… don't be surprised now… the Pentagon. ("We're dispatching a Marine expeditionary unit, the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, and the Maritime pre-position squadron from Guam to the area to help with relief efforts.")." (Tom Engelhardt ‘American Gothic’ http://www.motherjones.com/news/dailymojo/2005/01/01_503.html January 5, 2005).

There have always been politicians on the take, just as there have always been people who started out in politics with ideals who ended up becoming right wing bigots but it is difficult to remember a time when such vast numbers of people have acted in such a traitorous way to the causes they once espoused - and even, in many cases, continue to espouse. The word traitor leaps out at me virtually every time I read about the one of the major issues of our time.

May iran develop nuclear weapons to neutralize the zionist threat and thus bring peace to that part of the middle east; may the world force the zionists to end their invasion of palestine; may seats in all representative democracies be allocated along ethnic lines to stop the domination of any one race in supposedly multi-cultural societies; and may iraqis take heart from the viet cong one of the greatest freedom fighters ever known.
