Computer Science Programmes

A Computer Science Degree is an excellent preparation for a future career. It will sharpen the analytical skills of students as they discover the structures underlying software, stretch their creative talents as they design new systems and give them the confidence to sell their ideas to waiting world. The students will come to understand why systems work as they do- and what they learn will never go out of date for as long as people go on using computers.Although fashions in packages and programming languages come and go , the principles do not change and Computer Science is about principle.Yet it is more than that:the software packages we take for granted

today are among the most complex artifacts ever created. Our students have almost unlimited access to computers and the professionals softwares tools that go with them. The Department has- more than 10 teaching laboratory/interactive class room which are equippe with Window NT, Window 2000 Professional,Linux and more than 300 Pentium IV/III based Multimedia PC's and SUN ULTRASPARC Enterprise System with 40 SUN RAY-I Unix workstations.

Information Technology Programmes

The Information Society of the new millennium will require individuals with a range of skills in informations handling , information management,multimedia presentation,analytical and problem solving technique.The programme in IT is designed for the students who wish to apply a high level of a expertise to their chosen academic and career pathway in future as well as those who are considering an IT related career in educations, training,industry or government.The courses of reading for IT have been design in the lights of the recommendations of IEEE and ACM Joint Committe on Computer Science(cs) Curriculum and the recommendations of the National Curriculum Revision Com- mittee in the Information Technology and Computer Science.The IT degree programmes are a blend of courses from IT and mana- gement and will produce graduates which are equippe with both IT and Management skills.
