I made these cardboard boxes with hinged lids so that I could use some of my silk ribbon embroidery on them. I used transfer medium to 'print' the faces onto muslin. Next I did the silk ribbon embroidery and then lightly colored the faces with colored pencils. The lady with the 'E' is actually with a 'B'. The transfer medium makes mirror images, so when I embroidered it I covered over part of the letter to turn it into an 'E'.

This was the first time I worked on linen and I thought I'd go blind! The cross stitch was worked over 1 thread. I made the cardboard box to put embroidery supplies in.

This picture shows some basket lids, a box, and a tin I decorated with patchwork, tatting, and embroidery. I use the
containers for storing embroidery projects that I'm working on.
