2 cashmere bears Both of these bears are made from an old cashmere coat I found at a church sale. I removed the fur collar then machine washed and dried the coat. The fabric comes out so soft. The bear on the right is tied to a pair of cotton gardening gloves with raffia. The bear on the left is tucked in a plant pot with silk flowers, bird feathers, and a bird house.
green mohair bear This bear is made from green mohair that I dyed. It is sitting with some of my Marjolein Bastin collection.
3 bears on a tub These cute felt bears are based on the nursery rhyme, rub-a-dub-dub three men in a tub. The first to the left is the baker. He has a bucket with a sack of flour and loaves of bread. In his apron pocket, there is a loaf of bread and a rolling pin. Next comes the butcher. His apron has farm animals printed on it and he carries links of sausages. Lastly is the candle maker. His hat and apron are made of leather and decorated with wood beads. There are candles in his pocket. These guys started me making a series of bears based on nursery rhymes.
2 bears on sleds The top bear is made of felt and has a felt snowman in front of him. The blue bear is made of fake fur. I found these wood sleds and new they would be great for bears. I painted them, then wrapped the runners and outside edges of the sled with star garland and greenery garland that I found at Jo-Ann Fabrics. I glued tiny trees and gift boxes at the back of each sled. The bears are held on with clear sewing thread. I would never glue them! This was a cute way to display some of my bears for Christmas.
