The
Collegium
What is the Collegium you may ask?
Even if you don't ask, the Collegium is an attempt to bring
together much of the collected knowledge of Markland into a
weekend.
This is much like Fenby but with research and frat.
The Brigands would like to educate the masses at Page's Farm
over a variety of topics. We would like to delve into almost
every detail of Markland's wide variety of interests: history,
garb, craft making, fratricidal and recreational combat training
and weapons preparation.
We will, as the name suggests, operate much like a college.
Classes to choose from operating within set times and locations
for students to choose from.Volunteers are needed to teach though,
and we want to extend the opportunity to anyone interested in
running a class in whatever subject they desire to contact us
as soon as possible. For anyone(you or anyone you know!) interested,
please send a synopsis to Joe Carpenter at eogwulf@hotmail.com
about the subject matter; we ask that you keep to historically
verifiable information(frat has to be safe). The Collegium is
about education that can be entertaining not a entertainment
forum that "might" educate. Also if you want to learn
something contact Joe Carpenter and he will see if he can find
someone to teach a class on the subject.
It may seem short notice to some, but we at the Brigands camp
see the Collegium as something that can be done and done very
well, with your help. If you don't feel like teaching, show
up to learn. If you can't make it to class, put the word out
and you'll still be a valuable part of a great weekend. We want
all of Markland to take this opportunity to gather and grow.
Bring non-members too, and show them what we're all about. We
are discussing with the Witan a membership drive for that weekend
with the possibility of the door fee waived if you pay Markland's
dues or re-up. This would make a fantastic time to sign up again
just before the traditional Hastings time...
If you want to teach a class that would involve materials please
mention it in your email, as we would make that a special registration
fee specific to that class. We will have a schedule and map
and pre-registrations ready prior to Collegium weekend.
We just need you.
Feel free to tell everyone you know about this. Bring the newbies
and not so newbies.
