Verses of Life
Listed beginning with most recent.

Angel

I've lived a long
eventful life.
Many things I've had to do.
Quite a few were easy,
not taxing me at all.
Others were more trying,
needing a little thought.
One task though was harder,
simple though it seems.
to say farewell,
and hear the knell,
and know the bell,
is mine.

Dodger

People think that something's wrong
though I'm not sure why
away from them all this time
underneath this sky.
Underneath electron skies
is where I've made my home.
Who are they to play the judge?
Saying I'm always wrong
hiding from their problems
under this sky I roam.
Do we no longer have the right
to choose where we call home?
But underneath electron skies
is where I choose to roam.
Underneath these cold, weatherless skies,
is where I call my home.

Existence

Once more we sit
  in this hour of dread
through mindless droning
  we wish we were dead
past the walls
  we hear mindless screaming
perhaps these people
  themseleves are finally freeing
hoping
  dreaming
endless
  screaming
through all these chores
  life

Humanity's Curse

Man is rarely perfect,
though he often claims to be.
his moments of hapiness are few,
for he often wants,
what they know, he can never have.
to reach and grasp a star,
to bottle the eternal moonlight,
to hold an angel close.
often it seems,
the Quixotic quest,
is his only dream.

Lifespring

By the still waters
  of this raging torrent
this source of life
  is all we know
racing past us
  every moment
standing still
  so it may show
seeing the past
  through the future
tasting our lives
  through its fleeting passage
knowing our deaths
  will happen
knowing nothing
  will stop this life
knowing nothing
  can plug my spring

Prophet

Floating above
  it's all around
knowing too much
  it's certain for me
existing here
  above the ground
floating there,
  for others like me
knowing a curse
  that some call a gift
mine eyes became worthless
  leaving nothing
for me
  to see
save

the truth

Strife

Once again
  I feel the slap
that harsh, cold sting
  of life
ever was
  and such shall be
that cold, harsh sting
  of strife
through lives infused
  the chaos
    insues
and such, we walk
  forever
to tread through
  the ice
    and understand

Life
