Chapter Four
By Jasmine
Jasmine felt ashamed, astonished and intrigued all in one go but when Christian made his way over to May to "discuss" something she felt a flash of jealousy. She took one glance at May and almost whimpered. She was so much prettier than herself. She stole a glance at Ben and she could see Ben drinking in May's ravishing beauty and for the first time in her life she felt alone, so terribly alone. Mark came over and made Jasmine jump as he whispered into her ear.
"I wouldn't worry about it. She may be pretty but she doesn't have the same personality as you, right?"
It seemed that Mark was the only one who wasn't smitten and, being the good friend he was, he stood by Jasmine. Jasmine nodded but she wasn't completely convinced. It seemed like May had an excellent personality by the way Christian was laughing at one of her jokes.
May looked over to see Jasmine staring at her, basically throwing daggers into her back. Her eyes widened. What had she done wrong? She looked from Christian, to Ben, then back to Jasmine and immediately pieced things together. Not good. She had been hoping to become friends with Jasmine.
Mark saw Jasmine, then May's, gaze and sighed. He knew Jasmine liked Ben as more than a friend, since she had told him everything, and maybe even liked Christian as well because he was good looking. But would she ever like him? He pondered on that thought for a while. He had had a crush on Jasmine for a while but had only even been a friend, someone whose shoulder she could cry on when she was thinking about the fact that she liked Ben when he seemed to like her...but only as a friend. God, how could this have grown so complicated?
