Christopher with Thomas the Tank Engine (7/03/1999)

7/07/1999, Tuesday - Burping & Eating.
(age: 2 years, 7 months, 18 days)
Christopher has been having trouble eating at the right times. Last night he hardly touched his supper and then, after putting him to bed, he got up hungry. And hungry he was! He ate three hot dogs and a whole banana.

Christopher with Granddad at Kansas City zoo (July 18, 1999)After he had eaten all those hot dogs, Tina asked him if he wanted a banana. Christopher replied "Uh huh." Then he changed his mind and said:

"Actually, I'd like another hot dog, Mommy."

Quite a mouth full for a two year old. Since he ate all the hot dogs, he got the banana instead.

Christopher's potty training continues. He likes using the toilet, but never tells us when he needs to go. Still learning.

7/14/1999, Wednesday - Potty Training.
(age: 2 years, 7 months, 25 days)
Potty training is going well. He still doesn't tell us when he needs to go, but he does like going when it's convenient. Yesterday he just learned to stand up while going potty.

A couple days ago Tina was helping him in the restroom. I walked by and Practicing his throw (July 23, 1999)he called my name. When I stepped into the room he stood up, pointed to the toilet and said "Look, Daddy. That's not Nicole's poopies. That's Christopher's poopies!"

7/30/1999, Friday - Potty Training.
(age: 2 years, 8 months, 10 days)
Christopher has definitely hit the terrible twos. You can't really blame him, though. It is a hard time. He's changing a lot. Learning to use the potty, trying to find new ways to annoy his big sister, etc. One side effect of his age is that he's really clinging to Mom right now. If she's around, he wants her to help him with everything. I get to hear things like "go away, Daddy" or "Mommy do it". Sometimes, if I try to help, he'll throw a wonderful tantrum. So, what's one solution to all this? Send Tina away. Not for long, of course. She went shopping with Nicole last night and Christopher was a dream. We wrestled, played computer games, watched Blue's Clues, sang songs, ate snacks and read books. It was great. Last night I even got to hear "I love you, Daddy" two times!
