05/07/2001, Monday - Going to Paradise. Building with Legos
(age: 4 years, 5 months, 18 days)
I was putting Christopher to bed the other nigh when he asked, "Daddy, can I go to paradise with you?" He's been listening to his Easter stories, I can tell.

Christopher has really been enjoying playing with Legos lately. He has been collecting "Lego Racer" cars and talks about them all the time. He even made Tina a special contraption out of Legos. We don't really know what it is, but it's kind of cool.

05/10/2001, Thursday - Remember Me
(age: 4 years, 5 months, 21 days)
I was getting ready for work very early this morning. Christopher woke up and took my spot in bed next to Tina. He was awake, so I went over to give him hugs good-bye. He hugged me, gave me a big kiss on my cheek and said, "Remember me by this kiss." I have no idea where he got that phrase, but it really touched me.

05/20/2001, Sunday - Drawings & Alphabet
(age: 4 years, 6 months)
The pictures Christopher is drawing are much more detailed now. They surprise me because he never seems that interested in drawing (too active). He also wrote out the entire alphabet for the first time the other day. I did help him with some parts of the letters, but he's really coming along.

Christopher's school ended last week. He is now in swimming lessons and doing better than I expected. The way he behaved in the shower you'd think he'd be deathly afraid of swimming lessons. But he told me yesterday that he jumped off the diving board and swam to the side himself. And this time in the shower, he rinsed his own hair. That's a big step for him.
