Story :)
Laputa is the name of an island that floats in the sky. It is rumoured that it stores fantastic wealth and technology. However, it is also possible that the technology can destroy both laputa and the earth. The story revolves around a young girl, Sheeta, who possess the key to Laputa. Her ancestors were people of Laputa. However, she is being pursued by the government for that key. Besides, the government, a clan of air pirates are also pursuing her. She fell out of the sky from the plane where she is imprisoned and would have died if not for the pendant (key) which made her float slowly down to earth. (she is unconcious). She landed in the arms of Pazu, a young boy of her age who is working in a mine. He took her in and brought her to his place. Pazu is also looking for Laputa as he wants to prove to people that his father, a airship captain, was not lying when he said that he saw Laputa. Together, they become friends and escaped from both the pirates and the govt numerous times. In the end, they made friends with the pirates when they were kidnapped by them. Together they found Laputa and met with the final danger. (oh, watch the anime if you want to know the ending)

This anime is full of adventures and action from the very start. The airships and all kinds of engineering gagets are very inventive and very detailed. The music soundtracks are also very good. ( Do you like the openning MIDI of my index ? It was a piano solo from this anime. suki desu !) However, greed and power is reflected in this anime. Greed for power was the cause of the near destruction of earth and Laputa.
In all, an action anime (not very violent type, of cos.)
