Here are some views of the not too distant future, some of these projects are kinda goofy and far out...
Projects
- The Venus Project - color me a skeptic. I think the concepts are totally cool (well some are a little whacked, but hey, so are mine) but I can't decide if it's a Libertarian thing? And, well, when you consider the whole Bell-Curve thing most of their ideas (like the resource based economy) won't do so well with your average human (unless you got bigger guns or secret behaviour modification drugs to put in the food supply).
- Space Island Group - I want to live in space, but in a tourist hotel? hmmmm.
- Oceania - the first update in like 6 years on this site says the project was cancelled about 6 years ago. Why was it cancelled you ask? Why according to the note: "...and the fact that its precepts were based in Libertarian politics." Well, everyone who knows me knows my opinion of libertarians and this quote came from one of their own! Bwa-hahahahaha! (still the idea of an ocean city is pretty cool)
- Lifeboat - from the people that brought us Oceania and the Atlantis Project comes the lifeboat, their mission is no less than to save the human race! Probably a waste of time since the alien visitors already have enough DNA stored to repopulate the species if we nuke ourselves.
- Arcosanti - a prototype Arcology! Neat artwork, lotsa futurist ideas.
