SUNDAY STYLE INSITE RECOMMENDATIONS, PAGE 32

romaWeb: Aromatherapy -- "the use of volatile plant oils, including essential oils, for psychological and physical well-being" -- is what this site is all about. Almost every aspect of the subject is covered here in such neat well-conceived sections as 'Oil Profiles', ''Book Shelf', 'News Room', and 'Recipe Box'. The 'Daily Tip' feature and the 'Business Plaza' link which helps you "locate businesses that provide aromatherapy products and services" are the other major attractions. The site has an eye-pleasing look and loads swiftly because of minimal graphics.

The Family Corner: Kitchen and Home/Home Decor: Wanna know how to decorate your bedroom? Interested in some great "cook out" recipes? Well, this is one of the best places to look for such info. Not only that, you can also get vacation tips, ideas for birthday celebrations and plenty of other family fun suggestions. Among the must-read articles are 'Interior Design on a Budget', 'Awaken Your Home with Autumn Aromas', 'Decorating a Teen's Room' and 'Styles for the New Millennium'. Some of the tips may not be that practical but you can also modify them to suit you own needs. In any case, you'll be hard pressed to find a better site dealing with such a broad range of home decor issues than this.

Widows of War Living Memorial: A place "where widows of all armed conflicts can record and share their stories with people throughout the world". The accounts of loss and grief featured here are often touching, offering new insights into war and conflict as perceived by women whose husbands have been victims. You also get the feeling that if women ruled their world, Planet Earth would be a more peaceful place. There are only three sections on the main page -- 'Read Widows' Stories', 'Share Your Stories' and 'Learn about the Project'. But that's the beauty of site. It's highly focused on what it sets out to do -- to document the personal feelings and experiences of war widows as simply and sincerely as possible.

The History of Rock 'n' Roll: Here's a site devoted to "the Golden Decade 1954-1953", a period that saw the birth and rise of one of the 20th Century's greatest phenomena. You can find out just about everything about the music made during this era, from the artists and the environment that bred and nurtured them to the DJs, personalities and record companies who propelled them to stardom. The 'front door' has a neat search box and the main menu has direct links to such things as 'Real Audio Files', 'Roots and Influences', 'Teenagers and the 50s', 'The Technology', 'Guitar Heroes', 'Bill Haley', 'Elvis and Rockabilly', 'Alan Freed', 'Payola Scandal' and 'The Brill Building'. And the essays on ragtime and the contribution of Scott Joplin are also interesting. Actually, this is not the official site. For that you have to go to the other History of Rock 'n' Roll, which promotes the TV series of the same title. But you won't find much other than teaser material here.

Ask HeartBeat!: Relationships Advice: If you're looking for useful advice on dating, love and sex, you might want to try this site. Ms HeartBeat, a chat hostess on America Online who has a TV show on black male/female relationships in the San Francisco Area, seems to have plenty of experience on romance and such matters. You can submit your own questions but before you do that check the FAQ sections on love and teen dating and the 'Relationship Advice Column' (covers things like cheating spouses, physical abuse, teen sexuality, interracial relationships, cohabitation, bisexuality and gay relationships) to find out if the topics you have in mind haven't been dealt with yet. Besides advice, the site also offers 'Personals', 'Articles', 'Discussion', 'Poetry' and 'Fun Stuff' pages that have plenty to keep the love-addicted occupied.

The Tennis Server: There're thousands of tennis pages offering everything from game tips to gear advice but few of these are as authoritative as this Webzine. There's a 'Daily Tennis News Sources' link to let you get the latest results, but news is not the main attraction here. Features like 'Between the Lines', where columnist Ray Bowers 'takes an analytical and sometimes controversial look at the pro circuit', 'Turbo Tennis' ("tennis tips, strategic considerations, training and practice regimens, and mental mindsets and exercises"), 'Mental Equipment' (sports psychology) and 'The Circle Game' ("tennis for juniors and seniors") will immediately have players of all levels hooked. There're lots of other equally intriguing sections at this all-bases-covered site.
