1/ Who can participate in classes and workshops?

* Cooking & Others Classes and Workshops:

  • Minimum age is 15 year (teenager school holiday workshop excepted).
  • * Beverages Classes:

  • Minimum age is 18 years old (ID proof may be required).

    No upper age limit apply in any of our classes or workshops

  • 2/ Commencement of Classes and Workshops / Following Term Brochure:

  • Starting day, Date & Time are clearly indicated in each class or workshop description.

    Following term brochure are generally out by week 6 of current term.

  • 3/ Duration of Classes and Workshops:

  • Most classes run for 2 & ¼ hours / 9 weeks (4 term per year)

    Saturday’s Demonstration/Diner Workshops are 4 hours duration

    Sunday Hands On Workshops are 5 hours duration (AM or PM)

    Teenagers Holiday Workshops are 2 & ½ hours daily (Monday to Friday)

    Special classes or workshops timing are clearly indicated within description.

  • 4/ Cancellation of Classes or Workshops:

  • The school reserves the right to cancel a course (or vary the duration of a course) if they are insufficient number of students enrolled…. Or for others reason beyond our control. If the school has to cancel a course, refund of fee (less bank charges), free transfer to others classes or alternative option will be offered…
  • 5/ Child Care:

  • For safety reason children can not accompany students to class. However occasional childcare is provided at 4 locations close to the school (address and telephone details will be provided upon request).
  • 6/ Multiple booking (same student/term):

  • Book at least 2 classes or 4 workshops and get a free school apron (RRP $ 13). Book at least 3 classes or 6 workshops and get a free school folder (RRP $ 22).
  • 7/ Course or Workshop Certificates:

  • Can be delivered to anyone attending our workshop or completing at least 7 out of 9 weeks in our full term class. A fee of $ 4.00 apply ($ 5.00 if posted).
  • 8/ Public Holiday:

  • All our classes are postponed by one week.
  • 9/ Insurance (disclaimer):

  • P.I.C.S hold full insurance, but cannot accept responsibility for misadventure or loss to person or property. If you feel that you too, you may contract personal liability insurance for the duration of your selected course(s)
  • 10/ Payment:

  • Do not post cash money (or leave cash in the school letterbox).

    Dishonoured payment incurs extra administrative fee of $ 20.00 (for bank charges).

    Booking less than one week prior to courses starting date incurs a $ 5.00 late booking fee (for each class or workshop).

    Booking by fax or phone incur an additional fee (workshops + $ 2.00; most classes + $ 4.00; hospitality classes + $ 10.00, wine classes = $6.00). In exceptional cases, the school may agree to a "next term transfer" of fees. Transfer fee of $20 will apply.

  • 11/ Gift Certificates:

  • Are printed and sent free of charge for any of our Food & Beverages classes or Workshops. Decide on the value of the gift (and eventually select the class or workshop) or leave the recipient to choose their class(es) or workshop(s)

    These certificates are not redeemable for cash under any circumstances.

  • 12/ Retail Range available at the school:

    Recipe folder $ 22 Magnetic Knife Rack $ 15/$17

    Set of 3 knifes $ 60/$68 with Sharpening steel $ 90/$98

    New Furi Knives also available

    Assorted Cold Drink $ 1.20

    Tea /Coffee / Biscuits $ 1.20

    Plastic Food container $ 0.50 Aluminium Dishes $ 0.50

  • 13/ Breakage’s & Equipment Malfunction:

  • In order to have equipment fixed rapidly report any malfunction to your teacher… To have equipment replace when necessary, report any breakages to your teacher… To avoid any disadvantage to others classes students it’s strictly forbidden to "borrow" and take any school equipment out of the school premises.
  • 14/ General School Rules:

  • For everyone enjoyment & hygiene the school is a strictly non smoking place…

    The school has a BYO policy (beer or alcohol). For your own safety it’s recommended that you drink in moderation (taxi can be ordered if needed).

    For health and safety reasons drunk or disorderly behaviour will not be tolerated at the school and for our neighbours sake it’s ask that you leave school premises quietly…

    For a better future, we recycle paper, glass, plastic, aluminium cans and food "scraps"

  • 15/ School Social Book Club:

  • All our students are given the opportunity to purchase books and others goods at discounted prices through our Social Book Club. (books are supplied by The Cookery Book Shop with a 10% discount)
  • 16/ Students Discount Card & Give Away:

  • Each student of the school is provided with a discount card (valid for the term). Some shop offer up to 25 % to our students and the card is valid in selected locations all over Sydney. Thanks to our sponsor "Ayam Brand" all our students get a free cookery booklets and numerous food samples

  • 17/ Student Discounts:

  • Some of our students may be able to claim a 10% discount on advertised enrollment fees. Students with Senior Cards, GALA members, SGLBA members, Bertolli Club and Mardi Gras members are granted 10% discount (only one discount per student per class)
