Poems by the Treejumper
Unrequited
The clouds pass over me
As you did
I liked to look up at both of you and imagine great things
But none of it was real.
Cure
Loosen your mind
Something broke off in there
Shake it with innocent cruelty
Like a child shakes a glass jar with a grasshopper inside
See what it does.
Something Beautiful In My Mind
Your soul,
As soft as your lips in my hair
Your large, hand-enveloping hands
Feel as good as your smile
Your eyes whisper
Something beautiful in my mind
These silent sounds
Tickle my heart
When you speak,
Your words stay in my veins,
In my circulation,
Around and around
They never leave
Recorded in my bones
Everything you do
Every complete scene
Every part of you that exists
Is recorded in my bones
Your body glows
Rivers of light from all your pores
I want to bathe in this light
Until your breath fills my lungs
Until my blood flows through your heart
Until my mind is indistinguishable from yours
And trying to tell the difference is too exhausting
So all we can do is lay down and float away
Rising with the sudden heat
Everything bursting into light
Falling back down
Thoroughly blissfully blinded and in love
My forehead touching yours
Lightly
Your closed eyes especially
Beautiful
That one moment.
Abandon
Music keeps me so alive
But there is a time the
song must die.
There is a time we all must
die,
A time when souls turn
to shadow dust
When ashes of fires
Are blown away by the wind
I'm not afraid of death itself,
But the sadness that
Swallows it whole
the whirlwind
That sweeps the land,
Leaving dismembered,
Mangled pieces
Of life, strewn desperate
On the earth
The life that is a song,
Beautiful,
And full of energy,
But there is a time the song must die.
These are only a few of the many poems I have collected from my friends and written personally, and they will change oh... monthly.
