Life
Life is like the weather,
There are good times,
When the sun comes out,
And bad times,
When you get snowed in,
But when that happens,
You will always,
Know,
That the sun will come up,
Sooner or later,
Don't let the bad weather,
Make you sad,
Make the best of it,
And don't sulk over it,
Sometimes if you look at it in a different way,
It may be good,
How can you ski or sled without snow?
And good things happen,
During the coldest times,
Hannuka, Christmas, New Years' Day,
So don't let bad things put down,
For the sun will come up,
Sooner or later.
Memories
The memories,
Are the things that we hold dear to us,
The things we turn to,
When there is nothing left,
Memories of good times,
And of bad,
Of your first step, word, day, grade, graduation, and later car,
Fond memories of days gone by,
Of old friends, relatives
left behind,
All collected,
In your mind,
What are memories,
They are childhood sweethearts,
And cool summer nights,
The sun filtered through the trees,
Or the rain splattered on the window,
They are all there,
Stored away,
There when you need them,
Your best friend,
They might bring tears of joy,
Or sadness,
Make you laugh or cry,
But they're always there.
Moving On
As I walk down the street in the night,
The moon shines up in the sky bright.
I feel a chill go down my spine,
I remember when you were mine.
This is Life; this is what it's all about,
There is no time to cry, to time to pout.
No one to turn to, no one to care.
The world goes on, life isn't fair.
What do we do, at these times so sad?
No use in sulking, no use being mad.
We move on, we accept our losses,
Don't think about the effects, or about the causes.
Think of times of joy, when all was right,
Think of what happened, and not of what might.
These memories will always give you hope,
They'll make you better; they'll help you cope.
'Cause this is Life, this is what it's all about.
There is no time to cry, to time to pout.
You've got to be brave, you've got to be strong.
The world keeps turning; you've got to move on.
These are only a few of the many poems I have collected from my friends and written personally, and they will change oh... monthly.
