Indianapolis at Detroit - Thursday - W
The Lions will have the giving part down pat, but they won't have much to be thankful for as the Colts roast Detroit.
Chicago at Dallas - Thursday - W
It's maybe the worst tease Cowboys head coach ever gave fans. Rookie quarterback Drew Henson going six-for-six with a touchdown pass was the worst debut Parcells could had imagined. It's gonna be hard convincing Dallas followers that Henson isn't ready. But at the end of the day, it still is Parcells' decision and he decides to stick with Vinny Testaverde. It pays off with a Cowboys win.
Tampa Bay at Carolina - L
To be fair, I must admit I forgot to mention a very productive rookie last week. T.B.'s Mark Clayton leads all rookie receivers in catches and yards and should had been included in the accolades. Unlike myself, the Panthers won't overlook Clayton, but 'Lina won't be able to stop him or his Buccaneers mates.
Cleveland at Cincinnati - W
Forget Pepto Bismol! Cincy wide out Chad Johnson hires soon to be unretired Ricky Williams for holistic treatments. The Bengals ill all over the Browns.
Tennessee at Houston - L
Some think it's crazy for Titans quarterback Steve McNair to return to playing this season becuase of the list of injuries he suffered through during his career. They think he has a few screws loose. And the truth is, McNair does. One is in the ankle and two more in the off shoulder. As long as McNair gets his tune-up, he should hold up long enough to lead the Titans to victory.
San Diego at Kansas City - W
People question the legitimancy of S.D.'s record because it has been built on win over cream puffs. A convincing with over the Chiefs on the road would go a long way in swaying some doubters. There will be a few more believers as the Chargers edge K.C.
Jacksonville at Minnesota - L
Quarterback Byron Leftwich says he will be back for the Jaguars but his coach isn't too sure. Jack Del Rio won't rush Leftwich to the field, although he should reconsider since the passing offense gained 299 yards in the two games Leftwich missed. With athletes being athletes, Leftwich will play and lead the Jaguars past the Vikings.
Baltimore at New England - W
How much progress has Kyle Boller made this year as a quarterbck? Passing for over 200 yards in a game no longer is a milestone. But without running back Jamal Lewis Boller can't carry the team offensively. B-more comes up short against the Patriots.
Philadelphia at New York Giants - L
Talk about coincedence. Quarterback Eli Manning, like his brother and father before him, completed a six-yard touchdown pass for their first career TD pass. He'll add a few more as the Giants pull off the Upset of the Week.
Washington at Pittsburgh - W
AS bas as things are in the Nation's Capital, the Redskins will stay the course. That means no overtures with former college coaches like Lou Holtz or Joe Paterno and no moving the team and giving it a bad name like the Nationals. Who would ever do the second part? I mean, come on, the Nationals? Would they play in the NFC? Ha! All kidding aside, the Steelers win.
New Orleans at Atlanta - W
Getting the tar beaten out of you sucks enough but when N.O. owner compares his team to a high school team, it is the insult that adds to the injury. If Benson hires an off-key marching band then the Saints would be a high school team. N'Orleans gets schooled by the Falcons.
New York Jets at Arizona - W
Why did 'Zona head coach Dennis Green change quarterbacks when Josh McCown won three of his last four? It came as no surprise the switch to Shawn King resulted in a big loss. Staying with King will repeat the result, although they'll lose to the Jets.
Miami at San Francisco - W
If there was any question whether quarterback A.J. Feeley would remain the starter for the rest of the season, with Jay Fiedler being done for the season keeps the path clear, as long as Feeley doesn't go down to injury. A.J. was A-O.K. last week for the most part and he does one better, leading the Dolphins past the 49ers.
Buffalo at Seattle - W
Receiver Koren Robinson has been suspended for four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy and I bet you it wasn't for stick-um. Now we'll see if future Hall of Famer Jerry Rice really can be a big contributor for a team. He griped his way out of Oakland when he wasn't getting passes thrown his way and now must prove his worth. He'll come up short, as will the Seahawks against the Bills.
Oakland at Denver - L
Everybody wants to get onto SportsCenter, but for the right reason. For Raiders receiver Jerry Porter, getting rag dolled from a big hit by linebacker Randall Godfrey wasn't how Porter wanted to get repetitive face time. He's still stitching himself back together. Just in time for the Broncos to rip Oakland apart.
St. Louis at Green Bay - Monday Night - W
Rams head coach Mike Martz accused Buffalo players of taking cheap shots on his St. Louis players, injuring some of them. Included in the list of injuries is three cornerbacks. Just what a coach wants to see when facing Brett Favre. In his 200th straight start, Favre and the Packers mince the Rams.
