OPPOSITION MANAGEMENT AI
Everything a manager does, transfer market purchases, training, tactics, is aimed at improving the performance of his team on the field of play. It's therefore very important that the match itself is a true test and that the opposition managers will show the tactical skill to challenge the gamer manager. Too many smgs are merely tests of the relative level of skills of the two teams without any real attempt by the opposition managers to take advantage of any superiority they have or compensate for any deficiency. There's no real "tactics" from them at all.
In SaaP, each opposition manager has his own characteristics and style of play. His tactics start with an assessment of what he can expect from a game. If he believes he can or needs to win he'll approach the game with aggressive attacking tactics and an attacking team and formation. If he feels less confident then he may approach the game nore defensively and put a team out to close the game down.
Some managers will play a flat back four, some a wingback formation, some are more unpredictable. Some will even change during the progress of the game.
In the match, a manager will constantly monitor the situation, the score and time position, your tactical changes and substitutions, and will make his own tactical changes based on his assessment of what is needed to achieve his expectations for the result. He will raise and lower the pace of the game, he will change formations, bring on wingers/attackers/defenders, increase his attacking options, mark successful players, close the game down. He will do everything he can to achieve the result he wants.
The opposition manager will cause you all sorts of problems in SaaP. Ignore his moves and you will find your team beaten by opposition that shouldn't be on the same pitch as you and thrashed by a team that is little better.
