The much talked-about RB additions to PSU, not to mention the addition of QB Colt Brennan, wasn't enough to overcome the Hat Brigade. Still, (using a tired, old cliche') Betty White may have lost the war while winning the battle, due to All-Everything RB Michael Bush going down for the season with a broken leg and turning what could have been a legitimate title run into a question of who's going to be the man for the Hat Brigade. Brennan led the Goggles with 15, but the kciker was the only other player in double figures. Betty White moves to 2-0 all time vs PSU.

Wanker RB Adrian Peterson showed why he may be the best player in the league, leading all scorers with 25, but it wasn't NEAR enough as only QB Chad Henne got double digits and 3 position players put up nothing. Cronko got consistant, if not noteworthy, scoring from all of it's players in winning the first-ever meeting between the teams, with Palmetto State cast-off BenJarvis Green-Ellis leading the way with 17

The defending champs opened up their quest for a repeat with 25 point beatdown of Million Dollar. Burlington QB Bret Meyer was the week's high scorer with 34, and first rounder Yvenson Bernard chipped in 16. The Bills got 16 from QB Paul Smith but everyone else struggled, with no one else in double digits. With the win, Burlington pulled their career record against MDU to an even 3-3

Morristown was hitting on all cylinders against Clermont, becoming the first team under the new "old" scoring system to break 100. This was a new single game high score for the Falcons, and only the second time in the team's history they reached triple digits. The Falcons got 24 from WR Dorien Bryant, who led all scorers, and 23 from RB Brandon Ore, while the self-proclaimed Best Kicker In The History Of Man Mason Crosby only kicked in 4 (pun intended). Clermont, on the other hand, was led by their kicker (never a good sign) with 19 from John Vaughn. Morristown moved to 3-1 all time against their fellow expansion team.

In the closest thing we had to a Game of the Week this week, College beat Duff Beer for the 6th time in 9 tries in their first meeting since defeating the Donuts for the 2004 league title. DBU RB Dwayne Wright led all scorers with 24, but he got no help as QB Willie Tuitama's 7 was second on the team. The Students were just more consistant enough for the win, with first rounder Albert Young leading the way with 17.

Pee Dee River silenced much pre-season criticism with a 27 point win over Cincinnati. The BBK got 14 apiece from QB Stephen McGee, RB Courtney Lewis and the Virginia Tech D, while Terminal QB Rudy Carpenter was the only one on his team in double figures with 13. This was the third meeting all time between the teams, and now PDR owns a 2-1 edge in the series.

After all the preseason hype died down, South Central ended week one on the losing end of a high scoring affair with Sam Adams. The Drunks won largely on the strength of QB Troy Smith and WR Ted Ginn who hooked up for a 23 point play (ed note: that's at least the second time i've had one popped on me, previously by Paul) and scored 21 and 22 respectively. #1 overall pick Steve Slaton played well for the Raiders, leading the squad with 20 points. The win brought Sam Adam's record vs South Central to 2-6 all time.

Out of nowhere, two of the teams picked to finish near the bottom of the league lit up the scoreboard as Slacker beat Headbanger for the fifth time in six meetings. Slacker QB Chase Daniel led the way with 30 with the Clempson D contributing 18. Headbanger got 22 from WR Limas Sweed and 21 from QB JaMarcus Russell but it wasn't enough to stop the team from losing on opening day for only the second time in the team's 8 year history.
