Faye grew up a tomboy on her father's tobacco farm in North Carolina. After high school she went to the Tidewater area of Virginia to find a career in the city. After about a year of waitressing and going to a Vo Tech school, she became the trade school's first female apprentice bricklayer. She has been slinging mortar and cinder blocks for three years now.
Last winter, during the slow season, she took a boxercise class at Wareings Gym. She liked it so much she went into participating in the white collar boxing training they have at the gym. This past winter she started sparring in the in the ring and decided to give it a try professionally.
Faye's boxing career in the WEBA started out rocky with a loss to Tammy Quinton. But she quickly turned things around by defeating Balio Frez, Logan Thomas, Rose Mora and Echo Johnson. After defeating Echo, Faye got cocky, and Pam Chai and Andrea Wagner gave Faye two boxing lessons she swore never to forget.
In response to her two defeats and the recent death of her father, Chief Standing Bull, Faye listened to her brother Chief Dancing Bear and took a break from the WEBA. During her break she went into the mountains with the tribal Medicine Man Wandering Elk and learned a great deal about her people, and most of all, herself.
