Tammy likes to have a challenge. The more she's considered the underdog, the more she looks forward to the fight!

Originally trained at Chicago's Fighting Women's Gym, Tammy entered the WEBA at 18. She developed a reputation for unpredictability, giving some top WEBA boxers very tough fights, but also sometimes losing to fighters who were well below her in the rankings.

Tammy also set an unfortunate record, as the boxer who suffered the WEBA's quickest knockout ... she was knocked senseless by the first hard punch thrown by Pam Chai (then 0-1) in a WEBA fight in January 1997! Chai went on to become the most feared fighter in WEBA, while Tammy struggled with an on-again, off-again career. Tammy retired from the WEBA in 1999 after moving to New York, changing trainers, and taking two KO losses to Krissy Roberts and Diane McFee.

The summer of 2000 found 21-year-old Tammy riding high on earnings from a successful modeling career. She also moved to Las Vegas where she was surrounded by boxing and pro boxers, Tammy invested in starting up her own fitness gym, Tammy's Total Fitness and also got herself back into top shape for competition.

Her great media personality and looks made Tammy a promoter's dream and she was soon inundated with offers from managers who were eager to restart her boxing career.

Tammy's always eager to fight and will accept any reasonable challenge, but she knows she's not at the same level as the current WEBA champions and has been looking mainly for tune-up bouts with the lower-ranked WEBA fighters. Tammy's competitive spirit shows in all her fights, but she has come out on the short end of many close decisions since returning to the WEBA ring.

This hasn't dampened Tammy's enthusiasm for boxing, and her adventurous nature got her involved in a "grudge match" card against Russia's Nadya Lebedeva at Wu's infamous Fighting Tigers Club in November 2000. This was a brutal fight in which Tammy was badly bloodied and her jaw was broken before the Russian knocked her out.

"The Franchise" wasn't fazed. Ever the optimist, she told the press on her return to Las Vegas that the loss just made her more determined to train hard and improve her skills. It also gave her a new goal. Tammy knows she's a long, long way from winning a world title, but now has her sights set on a future rematch with Lebedeva ... to even their score!
