Welcome to my HTML webpage. See? the page name is html.html...hence, my
html webpage. Pretty witty eh? Anyway, by popular demand (ok. not all that
popular. Actually just one person mentioned it to me, but, as everyone knows by now,
i pretty much have no life so this extension to my webpage isnt actually a burdonor
anythign on me, in fact, it's like a blessing)..ok..so anyway...you will be able to check
back here every-so-often to find tips, tricks, and just neat-a-roony ideas on how to make
your webpages as coolio as mine. But please, no one ask me stupid questions like 'what
do you mean when you say 'tag'?" Please, if you dont know basic HTML,
um..go buy a friggin book alright?
- Alerts make
an alert pop up when someone enters or leaves your page or when they pass the mouse over
or click on a link or word.
- Links that change bgcolor links
that when you click on them they will change the background color of the page
- Window Message
when you pass your mouse over a link, it will display a message down there at the
bottom of the browser
- Go without clicking
this sends the browser to the desired webpage without them having to click on
anything. it just likes sends them there...automatically
- new borwser window
this is bascially self explanitory. instead of the person's browser changing
pages, it opens up a completely new browser when they select a link
- Link not underlined
another pretty hard concept to grasp from the title. it's a link, without the
underline
OK. So those are just a few of the little tricks you can do. But in
order for those tricks to work well, or to make them even cooler, you should learn a few
things that will..well..make them cooler.
- onMouseOver
this is a command that says "do a certain thing when i run or
place my mouse cursor over something." Examples, change the bgcolor by passing over a
link, display an alert when passing mouse over a link, change the color of the link when
placing mouse over it, making the mouse pointer turn into a hand even if there is no
link..and much much more!
- onMouseClick pretty
much the same as the OnMouseOver command but it works when you click the mouse button over
a specific area.
- <STYLE>
style is something that most peeps arent aware of. You can create a specific
stlye for your webpage so that everytime you want something to be in a header <h1>
whatever is included in it will be capitalized or bolded or green or purple. its
like defining things that you will have in your page. Also, you can use <STYLE> to
change some of the properties of certain things (eg. links)
- onLoad/onUnLoad what
this does is make somthing happen when you load or unload the webpage. for instance, make
an alert pop up gretting people, or making a new browser window display when someone tried
to leave your webpage...trap them at your page..heehee
Well, for now that is all that is here. I am not THAT bored that i am
willing to spend HOURS and HOURS at this page. But liek isaid before, come back
every-now-and-then and there will probably be new lessons and tips and stuff. Or, if
you hve any ideas or you wnat to know how to do something on my page or just something
that you thought of, e-mail me or something and I
will put it up here for you. got it? coo!
