Michael is the only member of his family to be born in Washington State. He did not live there long though, as shortly after he was born, his father left the army and brought the family back to New York.
Because his parents frequently moved, he attended a variety of grammar schools before finally settling down to complete High School at Northgate High School in Walnut Creek CA. He earned a BSE degree in Computer Science (Business minor) from California State University, Chico, where he played Rugby (with his brother Doug), was a member of the Ski Team, and officer of TKE.
After graduating from College, he has held a variety of computer oriented jobs, at companies like Borland, and Symantec. In 1992, Borland transferred him to their London office, where he lived and worked for two years. Michael is now the Product Manager at Centura Software, a database vendor near San Francisco.
Michael enjoys traveling, Mountain biking, Skiing, Scuba Diving, and Brewing beer. He has traveled extensively in North and South America, Europe, The Caribbean, Asia, Australia and the Pacific.
Previous jobs include working at Squaw Valley and Northstar Ski Resorts in California, Scubadiving instructor, Stable cleaner, and Agriculture worker.
