The Italians

These are our oldest known ancestors, those from Acri who did not emigrate to America.

Joseph Alessio #1

Married Contenta Genise #2.
Nothing is known about Joseph Alessio, except that he married Contenta Genise, probably sometime in the 1850's in Acri, Regio d'Cosenza, Calabria, Italy, where he was born.
While nothing is known, much is rumored. One rumor, probably confusing the Soma side of my family, has it that he was a Baker with a shop on Park Ave. in Brooklyn. Another is that he was a Tailor in Manhattan where he employed his son Vincenzo.
We highly doubt if he ever came to America.
Children:
Vincenzo Alessio #3 Born 1869
