When Raymond was a child, he used to play stickball with baseball legend Joe Toree. Raymond attended grammar school at Good Shepherd School in Brooklyn, High School at Brooklyn Technical High School (a special city high school that prepared students for an engineering career), and earned a BSEE degree from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute (now known as New York Polytechnic Institute), where he was president of his fraternity, Pi Kappa Phi>. He began graduate studies there as well (before thinking better of it).
His first postgraduate job was as an engineer with the New York Telephone Co. in 1963-1964. He served in US Army as a 1st Lt. in the Ordnance Corps from 1964-1966 where he was stationed at Ft Lewis, Washington (with a short stint at NATO in Norway).
He returned to the NY Telephone Company in 1966, and bought his first house at 333 August Road, North Babylon, NY. He left NY Telephone in 1969 and got into the computer business with Rapidata, whose offices were in the Empire State Bldg, NY.
Rapiddata transferred him to their San Francisco office in 1972. He left Rapiddata in 1977 to join McDonnell Douglas, where he climbed through the ranks to become Branch Manager.
He worked for McDonnell Douglas until 1981 when he quit to join David Hicks Assoc. in Lafayette Ca. He became the Director of marketing with DHA.
He currently works at Ipex corporation, a company that recruits foreigners (mostly Indians) for US based companies. He is also quite a travel buff, enjoying frequent trips abroad, with his hiking club.
