DAGGERS: Don't leave home with out them!-*****
Dyne the Dagger
There are many weapons under the sun
But I Dyne the Dagger use only one
It's sharp and it's small and it packs quite a punch
So I always make sure that I carry a bunch
You can use them like darts and throw them quite far
But stabbing vermin up close makes you feel like a star
Swords and spears, dirks and pikes, bows and arrows too
These are not for me though they might be for you
Daggers are wonderful, and daggers are grand
Daggers are the greartest weapons in the land
Daggers are amazing so never doubt them
And always make sure you don't leave home without them

Major Perrigord’s Triumph-*****
Tilson the Gargantuan
The battle was cold and unlike any other,
‘Twas time for good and evil to face each other.
A field was chosen by both sides.
A place littered with death, bones, and hides.
Both sides driven by hatred and dread.
Each side wishing the other was dead.
The left the woodland and marched into the fields.
Each having swords, pikes, spears, and shields.
Major Perrigord stepped forward on the allies side.
To give a speech that would bolster their pride.
“Come chaps, we can beat this stinking lot.
Boost your spirits up, they can beat us not!”
Up rang a full hearted chorus and cheer,
They had more numbers, they had nothing to fear.
Little did they know, the opposing side was far greater.
Their numbers weren’t good now, but they would be later.
Over across the vast valley and field,
In a valley there was a hoard on the yield.
They broke cover and revealed their numbers.
Their war cry awoke the allies from their slumbers.
They charged over the miles of the fields.
They drew their swords and raised their shields.
They stopped within shouting distance of the allies,
The warlord gave a speech littered with lies.
“You cant beat us, you’re out numbered two to one.
We would let you live, should you decided to run!”
Major Perrigord stepped out all noble and bold,
To give a speech that he thought should be told.
“You come and try to take our land,
Come closer and I’ll give you a taste of me backhand!”
The warlord quivered with anger and rage,
Looking like a animal scared, in a cage.
“That’s the last straw, I gave you a chance!
Upon your grave I will surely dance!
I will see the fear in your eyes,
Right before everyone of you dies!”
Fifty score, got ready to fight.
To attack the camp overnight.
Major Perrigord thought this an awful way
For many a young soldiers to die away.
They looked at their enemies, a bit shy.
Then they threw back their heads and yelled their war cry.
“Give’em blood’n vinegar, chaps, eh, wot!”
Weapons drawn and bow strings taught.
They charged at each other, full force.
Not having any feelings of remorse.
They collided into a disastrous war,
Each body getting battered, bruised, and sore.
The fighting went on through out the night,
Each soldier battling with courage and might.
A far way off, Over about a league away,
There was an army on the march that day.
They descended the wooded slope into the field,
They charged hitting out with sword and shield.
They were like a candle in the black of night.
Major Perrigord’s soldiers may win the fight.
They fought on for that whole day.
Until major Perrigord made his way
To the warlord and attacked with all his might,
It was a battle to the death, a deadly fight.
They fought on, both equal in swordsmenship.
They fought until the warlord made a deadly slip.
Slaying the warlord in cold blood,
The body fell in a heap into the mud.
The allies were fighting and going to win,
Three cheers for major Perrigord, break out the gin!
There was a big celebration and plenty of food,
The allies had won, they were in a celebrating mood.
From that day forward, let it be heard,
The presence of evil in that, country was absurd!
Many were lost in battle in a horrible way,
But that was the cost of freedom that day.

My Rab-***** Sung by Iris Streambattle to Rab, after battle of Southsward Here's one from Juniper Arrowlance Sailing over the water and wave, Your arrows straight and true. A strong, fine otter, proud and brave, Oh Rab, there was none like you! You were a good otter, stern at times, But a twinkle forever in your eyes. Your voice as clear as the great bell's chimes, Oh, no otter as gallant and wise. But you lfe, slain among vermin hordes, And my tears fell like summer rain. Why did it leave, the beautiful life of yours, Oh, I thought I'd never see you again! Why, oh why, did you leave, At such a turbulent time? I wished I could see your face again, On, for me, the sun wouldn't shine. But just when I most needed help, You returned to my side! Crying my name in a mighty shout, Oh, my joy I could not hide! And now I sing this song to you, To a warrior's noble death. That I thought, but never knew, He still had life and living breath. So we sit, 'neath the golden sky, Sunlight clothe us in bright light. My love for you will never die, My husband, my Rab. |

A Prophecy-***** Another from Juniper "The Black Heart's revenge has already been wrought, Upon the Fire Mountain's Badger Lord. But the righteous prevail; and this we shall know By bringing back the Black War Bow. The Cruel One's slave trail, that path you must follow, Travel two yesterdays, today and tomorrow. Ask the Windchaser, he'll show you the way, To the kingdom's ruins, and there you will slay. Bring back my bow, and victory's nigh, Sing out, brave hare! And arrows will fly! This mission is nought but for the brave, Stride ahead on the path I have paved."
Ballad of the Wanderer-**** | Yet another from Juniper Travelling through forest and plain, Over the horizon and yonder. Up to the sea and back again, This is the life of the wanderer. No home to call of my own, The sky my roof, the ground my bed. Dusty path and shady lawn, Any place to rest my weary head. By day I travel beneath the vault of blue, Like an eagle in the sky so free. Coming when I want and leaving when I do, Yet, is there anything belonging to me? Friend, when you hear a knock on your door, Do open and let the wanderer enter. Just a place to rest, I'm asking no more, And shelter from the ever changing weather. On the next day at the crack of dawn, I'll be off on the road as before. Soon I'll be out of sight of your home, But the memories linger forever more.
The Otter's Song-**** | From Juniper I was born on a stormy day, T'wixt the waves of a sea, Fearless and daring, yet Reckless and free. O'course, I run into mischief, yet I still can come through, That's 'cos I'm an otter; how about you? A stone I can sling, A javelin I can throw, A sword I can swing, Will I back down? Oh no! I'll never miss me mark, my arrows fly true, All otters are warriors; what can you do? Friendly and funloving, That's us, ya know. Loved by all goodbeasts, We'll put on a show! We can tell a joke and you'll laugh till you're through, All otters are great mateys; are you a friend of us too? A river's me mother, A logboat's me wife, My home is the water, There I'll live all me life. My skill is surpassed not; I'm better than a crew, We rule the waters; we're otters through and through!
The Long Patrol War Chant-***** | Sung on the way to the Battle of a Thousand, as according to Deodar Fieldroan Juniper Fear to each Warlord, Terror to every corsair, Icy claws grip your hearts! When our cry rends through the air! Flee all vermin, away from this land! Don't think of staying to fight, Your vile lives mean nothing to us, You will all be killed on sight! The message on our flashing blades will sing: "Eulalia! 'S death on the wind!" Strong, swift and silent, Noiseless as a breeze, Ducking and weaving, We steal through the trees. Wild and perilous, We live for only one aim: Destroy all evil! Vermin we have slain! The message on our flashing blades will sing: "Eulalia! 'S death on the wind!" We will not back down from danger, Gladly giving our lives for virtue, We won't leave easily though, Of vermin we will take more than a few! Our lives you might take, Our friends you might slay, But you too will meet your end, You will not live another day! The message on our flashing blades will sing: "Eulalia! 'S death on the wind!"
We come unexpected, without a sound.
Ode to Gonff the Mousethief-***** | From Juniper-***** Strolling along te River Moss, 'Neath a clear sapphire sky. Hark, a whistle, again it comes, For he is passing by! With a flute to his lips, He comes along. Footpaws moving To a cheery song. Tralalala, oh my oh me, None are as daring and clever as he. As fresh as the breeze, the Prince of Thieves, Stealing quickly through the trees. Friend to creatures large and small, Let him into your house for a song. Yet do watch your larder well, There won't be food in it for long! Aye, Gonff is the cleverest thief, He'll hide a cake from under your nose, And steal the whiskers off your face, How did he do that? Only he knows! Tralalala, oh my oh me, None are as daring and clever as he. As fresh as the breeze, the Prince of Thieves, Stealing quickly through the trees. But friends, do trust in him, He'll be a good mate to you. You'll never know, one day The Mousethief will be to your rescue. Master of escape, He'll get you out in no time. No creature as skillful as he You're free before you count to ten! Tralalala, oh my oh me, None are as daring and clever as he. As fresh as the breeze, the Prince of Thieves, Stealing quickly through the trees. Listen to the flute, open your mind, Let the Mousethief enter. Friend of Martin, husband of Columbine, You'll forever live in Mossflower. |

Here's a poem from Snitter-*****
The light is found
Where none can see.
But hearken as
I speak to thee:
The sun shines not
On bird or beast
Within the land
The Guardian keeps.
The warrior, So keen of youth
Seeks, but cannot
Find the truth.
But, by the moon
He'll find it there-
If only he heeds the word:
'Beware'"
Reminiscing-*****
Here's a poem from Starbob Fleetpaw
In seasons to come, when I'm old, I'll sit by the fire and reminisce of old
battles and celebrations. The triumphs, the tragedies, friends lost,
friends made. The heartaches, the sadness, the tears, mourning over friends
lost. The fun and celebrations, the midnight attacks, running with my
friends in the Long Patrol as we patrolled the woods of Mossflower country
and the shores around Salamandastron. All that and more I'll look back on,
sitting around the fire reminiscing.
Journey's End-*****
Starbob Fleetpaw
The wind blows, leaves rustle. Then all is silent. The sun shines down through the leaves
on the trees making patterns on the worn path towards Redwall Abbey. Redwall Abbey 5
miles the sign reads.A tired traveler walks down the path towards the Abbey knowing of
the hospitality the Abbey shows everyone. The travelers feet make scuffling sounds. Then
the traveler is gone. The wind blows, leaves rustle. Then all is silent.
Mossflower-****
Starbob sent in another poem
The woods are quiet and still. The birds chirp. You can here the sound of dibbuns playing
in the distance at Redwall Abbey. Will Mosslfower always be free? Will the dibbuns
always have a safe place to play? The evil will always try to conquer the abbey but as long
as there are the brave ands pure-hearted the good will always triumph over the evil. As
long as there are they brave and pure-hearted Martin the Warrior will lead them to victory.
The Badger Lords of Salamandastron-****
Here's a poem from Juniper
Salamandastron: the mountain of fire,
Ruled by heir after heir,
By the Badger Lords, powerful and true,
Who are they? Let me tell you.
The old Lord Brocktree, wise and strong,
First Lord of Salamandastron.
Boar the Fighter: fierce warrior Lord,
Gave Martin his fabled, deadly sword,
Gave him his oath, a warrior's word,
And died a brave death with Ripfang's horde.
Sunflash the Mace, wandering all his life,
Endured evil and pain, hardship and strife.
A Lord who wasn't the warrior's type.
He renamed his name to the gentler Sunstripe.
Brave Rawnblade Widestripe, adventurous as well,
The badger who requested, and never got, Joseph's bell.
Went to Terramore with warriormaid Mariel,
And, by his great claws, evil Bladegirt fell.
Urthstripe the Strong, most courageous of all,
Protected the mountain through big problems and small,
Battled the Assassin the whole hard way,
And gave up his life that one fateful day.
The snowy Urthwyte of Salamandastron,
Saved the mountain when hope was almost gone.
And, on the final bittersweet hour,
Reunited with his long lost brother.
Orlando the Axe, wandering plains badger,
Searching and tracking for his lost daughter.
Defeating evil with brave Redwallers,
And the lost was found, amidst the slaughters.
Lady Cregga Rose Eyes, with the pupils of red,
Vermin see her with feara ndd read.
Along with the Long Patrol hares she lead,
Saw the vast horde of Rapscallions dead.
Orphaned young: Russano the Wise,
Brought up and taught by Cregga Rose Eyes.
Revered and respected for his wisdom,
The last known Badger Lord of Salamandastron.

The wind blows the tall, green grass in the meadow brining with it the smell of Redwall Abbey's
wonderful food. It's spring and the flowers are in bloom, adding to the wonderful smells.Inside of the
Abbey they are getting ready for the spring nameday feast. The food is prepared, the happiness inside the
walls is great. But vermin are coming, vermin always will come. The happiness will soon be ruined by evil.

Noonvale-*****
Shrieke
How green the dell, and the sky is blue.
The rainbow paints the forest glade with it's hues.
The dapples of sun filter down through the trees,
Mixing so subtly with the humming of bees.
Soft mosses cover the green forest floor,
The kestrels and falcons above me do soar.
The elms and the birches sway in the breeze,
While the squirrels leap 'round nimbly with great skill and ease.
As the moonlight wafts down, the stars dance their course.
The peaceful, warm night can leave no remorse.
The night sky arches 'round like a great starry dome.
Oh Noonvale, Noonvale, the place I call home.
A Redwall Feast-*****
Shrieke
Strawberry Cordial, Arrowroot Cake
Peach'n'pear Pudding and hot Tater Bake.
Over there on the platter's a blackberry scone
With home and cranapple jam smothered on.
After eating her pastry of bud of young rose,
Old Mother Mellus settles down for a doze.
Rasberry Cordial and Astermint tea,
Crystallized Fruit Buds and Nectar of Bee.
All of this fare you will find in Great Hall,
If you grace Abbott's Table in the Abbey Redwall.
Sweetend Aged Cider and Best Damson Wine,
What a spectacular way to dine.
Apple-pear muffins and Blueberry Tart,
The sight of such food could warm any cold heart.
Look there, it's a beautiful bilberry flan
Set in the friar's deepest pan.
And new from the cellars is fizz of sweet plum,
Stored in a barrell as big a a drum.
All of the wonders to be seen in Great Hall,
If you feast on the fare of the Abbey Redwall.
Now from the kitchens, a pie of sweet berries,
It goes quite will with these cordial cherries.
Peach marmalade on damson-flour toast,
Coming in on a trundle is tender trout roast.
At the head of the table is Abbott Bernard,
Sampling with pleasure some peachberry lard.
Here every last creature receives his share.
A hare would go green at the sight of such fare!!
You're invited to share all this food in Great Hall,
When you visit our Abbey, the Abbey Redwall.
Spirit Song-****
Santolina
Here I lie
Awaiting pain
Yet I feel none
My mind sleeps
And my spirit is released
It hurts no longer
So let my spirit travel
To fields of green
And turquoise seas
Let my spirit travel
Away from this pain
I'll follow ye
I see my tormentor
And pity him
For what he inflicts
Comes back to him
Times three
I run away
On antelope's feet
Away from this cursed beast
So let my spirit travel
To fields of green
And turquois seas
Let my spirit travel
Away from this pain
I'll follow ye

Night on the Edge of the World-***** Bandeye Linsang
The light of day is forgotten on Earth;
A great hushed quiet is broken by a howl.
An owl sails through the great dusky sky,
That’s when, to a panther, the world comes alive.
Deep in the valley a fox prances around,
This night on the edge of the world’s dark, deep, rim,
Till the next night, a bright brilliant gold sun |

The light sways on through its glorious paths
The lilies burst forth to shine their great dance.
Sunlight purs down through the gaps in the trees
Far behind you have left the wave-tossed seas
The roses sing forth their majestic song
Through the breath of their love comes a truth sweet and
strong
The trillium gleams in its splendorous gaze
The columbine's light shines its star's streaming praise
The closeness of home sparks a fire in your heart.
You dash on with the eager flight of a lark.
And then you see it, o'er the tops of the trees-
The starry white spire, and you fall to your knees.
You crawl forward with tears streaming down your face,
Then leap up and dart forth in a great joyous race.
A shimmering castle rises from the loam
Castle Floret shines bright, for at last you are home.
