THINKING SKILLS

There are certain mental actions which will help you to become successful in any problem solving or academic situation. These we will call "thinking skills." If you practice them, they will become second nature and you will automatically use them. They are listed below and by clicking on them you will find descriptions and practice links. All of these skills fit into a context of three actions, which when practiced in solving problems, will result in success. The three actions are:

1. Self-management (how are you going to attack the problem?)

2. Self-monitoring (monitor your progress, are you being successful?)

3.Self-modification (how should you change your approach due to monitoring to be more successful?)
