Precision of Language and Thought
If you work toward being as accurate and precise when you speak, you will automatically be training your mind to think accurately and precisely. Speak in complete sentences using as formal a form of English as possible. Avoid vague nouns such as ‘they, everybody, etc.’ Avoid using imprecise ways of referring to nouns or situations. Clarify your thoughts and be able to refer to metacognition in concise and accurate terms such as, ‘my hypothesis is,’ or ‘my assumptions have been that.’ Before you begin to speak, think for a second and then say what you have to say in the most accurate and precise language possible.
