Davidson Greggory & Stefan Von VaHarsen

This is some of my character profiles in my novel.

Davidson served as a provider, teacher and mentor to us all. He was the father figure most of us had lacked. After making us, He took us in and gave us a good life. Through time I would learn that he was an extremely disciplined vampire. I think that's what he may have seen in me...the potential, that is. He could often see things I could not....

Davidson Greggory was many centuries wise, and never told me much of his heritage until one special day. He had a unique plan for me & it had everything to do with his heritage. For I came from his ancestors, a desecendant. His dark gift had been a terrible experiment gone wrong, forever imprisoning him with a thirst for mortal blood. He had came from a land of ancient wizards & powerful magic. He was more powerful than any vampire he knew. His magic was lost throughout history in the mysterious lost history of Atlantis. For all I knew he was responsible for the whole culture disappearing since he was a vampire. But somehow, my family came from this magical place & he followed my family tree until he found me.

Davidson & I shared a special bond, I thought. One that was quite hard to explain. I valued his companionship more than any fortune the world could offer me. It was priceless to me. He had helped me & believed in me when the others began to fail me. He offered me a form of safety unlike any other human being, mortal or immortal. Never was he one to judge me. Instead, he merely coached me into the right direction, rather than scold me severely. Maybe that made the others angry or jealous. It was positive re-enforcement for me though. I do, however, think I was singled out and treated more special than the others at times...but honestly that wasn't my fault. I cared for Davidson, the others did not.

He filled us with knowledge, expressing it gave us even more power. He thought it was best if we were well educated. He told us often that knowledge would give us preparedness. He said knowledge & preparedness were the necessary keys, but that I possessed a rather unique & extra quality. He complimented me on my intuition, combined with my sensualness. He said it was absolutley lethal. I loved hearing that, it empowered me.

We shared a connection, telepathically. He knew when I had nightmares, and often knew what I was thinking from miles away. I liked that, because it made me feel like we were always in touch. There was safety in that. I was confident that he would, forever, be a part of my life.

Stefan had been an alleged criminal, wrongly accused I believe, and was facing certain death. Desperate, he escaped his imprisoners, and was being hunted to be hanged when Davidson found him. He has been with Davidson ever since. I do not know how long exactly, but for many, many years I am certain.

From that moment on, Stefan was forever indebted to Davidson. He became his helper, keeper, and guardian. He became a sort of scholar & Davidson was his mentor. He seemed almost trance-like at times trying to learn the coolness Davidson impowered. Stefan had developed a fondness for Little Tabbs that grew in time to a full-blown obsession. She constantly hurt him, while all of the rest watched. Really there was nothing anyone in the group could do to help him. She used Stefan every chance she could. He bought her things & she would use him to take her on trips & use his money. But he was as much to blame for letting it happen. He carried this torch for Tabbs, while driving her to destinations to meet with suitors for a night. And Stefan did this, willingly. None of us understood it. Davidson constantly talked with him about this, never to change his way of thinking.

Jessica Batresè and Stefan had a rocky relationship. He had betrayed her more than once. For that reason, she tortured him on occasion, unbeknownst to him. He would not confront her face to face about their wretched past, but they have an understanding presently. Because of his feelings for Tabbs, it often made him cross Jessica. Which Stefan began to grow stale of the trouble it caused him. Whenever he pissed her off, he paid for it in spades. It was a shame the two of them could not incorporate their characteristics, work with one another instead of against. Was she the only one who was concerned about making a weak link inside our coven? No one else seemed to worry about the loose-cannon called Tabbs, nor had anyone raised an eyebrow to the introduction of Stefan. So Stefan began to avoid her or back away from the confrontations altogether. It was not worth the trouble, he thought. Even worse were the thoughts projected into his mind of what she was thinking...it may have frightened him, causing him not to trust her. She felt he was trying to trip me up, a clean way to separate me from Davidson. He hated the heat it generated amongst the coven when he & I argued. Davidson just blew it off as though it were as simple as mortal sibling rivalry. Something always did lay just beneath the surface.
