Golems, in this case, is a general term which indicates that the creature is not so much a summonable one as one that the summoner build him or herself. Some serve as mindless automotans, obeying every command of their masters without question, but others are less submissive.
Any species with no asterisk next to its name is based on traditional myth or folklore.
* These species have been created in books or movies etc or by people outside of Lan Mesinsure.
** These species were created for the Atlantis series by Lan Mesinsure staff.

Golems: From Jewish tradition, Golems were crafted from clay and earth to form a humanoid creature. Of course, this leads to a whole lot of variations, which usually depend on what the creature is being created for. Fighters have a more agile build while workers are usually built to be sturdy and strong. Many spells surrounding clay Golems involve such things as granting them free will, allowing a mortal soul to possess them, and such.

Iron Golems: Iron Golems are formed from a single reagent, a metallic one. Much magic is needed to create them, as you don't actually build them. The Iron Golem will take on attributes of the reagent. This means if you use a sword, it will deal more damage in battle, or if you make it from armour or a sheild, it will withstand heavier attacks, or if you make it from a pasta pot, it will . . . boil water better? Frankly, we've never tried it.

Magic Carpets: Magic Carpets were the absolutely most popular mode of transportation in ancient Arabia. Magic Carpets must be crafted in a certain way, and then granted their magical abilities. They do not have any will, and it's likely they cannot be granted one. They do, however, transport anything or anyone on them anywhere very quickly, or at whatever speed the rider decides. Magic Carpets never tire, need food, and require repair only after long periods.

Flesh Golems: Flesh Golems must be constructed with dead flesh from animals, and are usually used only for fighting. If built properly, they can be very good at it. Unfortunately, their rate of decay is still the same, and they will be useless (and really stinky) after a week or so. The good thing about Flesh Golems is that they can steal life from their victims and it will replenish the summoner's if he or she is nearby.

Stygian Dolls: These femmes are summoned by conjurers to act as bodyguards and concubines. Stygian Dolls are formed using enchanted dolls crafted by the Stygian Nymphs. These dolls were precious commodities in ancient days, as the right enchantments would transform them into beautiful and deadly women. Stygian Dolls have pale skin and hair, and sometimes wear masks as stipulated by their summoner.

Stone Golems: Stone Golems (or Rock Golems, whatever), are built when in the process of enchanting it. The summoner simply casts the correct enchantments on a field of stones, and then they will form together to form a massive and powerful Golem. This enchantment does not actually physically manipulate the stones used, and so it is best to have a wide variety at your disposal, as the magic will need one that bests suits its need, i.e. a hand or a joint. They are bound by mystical energies and will collapse when the summoner either dies or the energies dissipate.

Tuplae: The Tuplae are from Tibetan practice. A Tupla can be found at most mountain temples in that region. Tuplae are formed from anything almost liquid-like but incredibly viscous. This is in most cases mud, certain types of snow, garbage, lava, or the like (keep in mind a Tupla of snow will do little use in a warm climate, as would a lava one in a cold climate, or for that matter, a temperate one). Tuplae are given specific instructions upon creation, such as "Guard this spot" or "kill anyone that litters here." These instructions are then bound, and the Tupla may even kill its creator if it applies. This will, in turn, destroy the Tupla, but they have no will, so they don't really care.

Herborans: While men have Stygian Dolls, women can always get an Herboran. Herborans are actually plants, and need the same basic things that a plant does; water, sunlight, and the like. Herborans are grown by planting an enchanted seed and fertilizing it with a magical potion. Herborans can look like whatever the summoner desires but the summoner (oft times a female) usually creates an outrageously gorgeous male of their species to protect and pleasure them. Herborans aren't very good fighters, though.

Gliders: More of a device than a creature, the Glider is forged of iron and steel and usually crafted into the shape of a bat or a raptor of sorts. With the right enchantment, they will begin to glow with a blue aura and will respond to the commands of their master. Smaller ones can be stood on.

Fire Golems: Fire Golems are summoned by casting enchantments on a big pile of burning wood. The wood will thereafter no longer burn, although it will still be on fire, and will be bound into a humanoid shape. However, it is best to cast these spells before the wood burns too much, or they will be frail in combat. Fire Golems are strengthened by fire and can hurl balls of it at their opponents.
