In the next Vampi issue #17, Vampirella finds out if you see someone tied up in the middle of a swamp and a hood over their head, don't help them. In ...BEWARE DREAMERS! a Sonny Bono look alike sends Vampi and the gang into a battle with the Dreamslayer! Proving that, yes, people still did lots of drugs in 1972. But seriously, check it out. It's a pretty good story.

DRACULA STILL LIVES and he's pissed!
In issue 18 Dracula meets up with his long lost love The Conjuress who quickly cools his fire (in that outfit, I don't think so) and sends him on a vision quest to atone for his sins. Vampi is close behind with a little help from a magic mirror and sits by while Dracula tells his story. We find out all about Drakulon and how Dracula and the God Chaos got mixed up. But the big question is, does Dracula become a good guy? Well, what do you think?

In the Shadow of Dracula! (issue 19) Vampirella gets sent back in time as Ella Normandy, laboratory assistant in a Bram Stoker-ish tale of Dracula. I have to stop and, once again, praise Mr. Jose Gonzalez. Some of the art in this issue is so beautiful, it'll just about make you cry. Take a look at this for example...

This is just a little image on page 5 that is absolutely frameable! This is someone who truly understands pen and ink and black and white drawing. It is this kind of skill that make the early issues of Vampirella a true collectors item.
